not so fast my friend: "BYU has been here for the last three years and has completely sold out our stadium," Las Vegas Bowl representatives told ESPN.com. "They sell out the hotel partners, which are big sponsors for us, and they’ve provided us with great games the last few years they were here.
"On the other hand, TCU probably is the second-best team in the conference. They were here [in Las Vegas] three weeks ago and probably had, I didn’t count them, but maybe 500 people here. One of the things the Las Vegas Bowl is built on is trying to get people to Las Vegas."
www.star-telegram.com/sports/story/1059915.htmlGuess they haven't heard about the 20000 waiting to buy bowl tickets?

Mike, I can't believe you just quoted Graham Watson. SHE is the worst, THE WORST "sportswriter" I have ever seen. She makes the most wild-ass, unsubstantiated claims every week and most are aimed at TCU. She has some hidden agenda against the school. The day after the BYU game she said that she was there and the stadium was half full of BYU fans. I was there and they had 8000 max-about half of the east stands. In regards to the UNLV game-it was more like 2000. TCU sold out one entire section (more than 500 in and of itself) and had pockets of fans scattered throughout. This fact was substantiated in the LV paper. She didn't count because the number is beyond her mental comprehension. Besides, comparing attendance for the UNLV game to an actual bowl game against a team that at least has a clue about winning is like comparing apples to oranges. What Graham fails to mention is that TCU has sold out of their bowl allotment for every game since the '94 Indy bowl. The PB allotment was sold out and most were donated to underprivileged youth who were given purple LT shirts to wear at the game. If we get a LV bid, we will sell out of our allotment and I guarantee that 10000 TCU fans would outspend 20000 mormons any day of the week. The old saying is that BYU fans come to town w/ a $10 bill in their pocket and leave with it.
If you were to actually look up the chat that the quote was taken from you'll see her get ripped apart left and right-if ESPN hasn't edited it yet like they usually have to every time she opens her dumbass mouth. I'm of the opinion that she only has her job because of affirmative action-she's a minority as well. She's retarded. She's clueless. She has no business being a representative of the world wide leader in sports. She used to be the Mizzou beat reporter and I can't believe she even got that job. She should be reporting on the Gainesville Leopards.

Let me make a correction-the comments were from a dumbass woman who is a LVB rep. They were told to the dumbass from ESPN. Sorry, I got my dumbasses mixed up but you get the point. Watson actually mentioned something about TCU's poor attendance the week following the UNLV game. Either way, both are dumbasses.

The lady that made the comments is more than just a random LV Bowl rep. She is in charge of the selction committee.

She has since apologized for putting her foot in her mouth. I'm amazed that she even had enough time to take BYU's cock out to put her own foot in.

But she's right.
BYU would sell the place out.
TCU will bring about 4oo-1000 people.

well, maybe they would bring more than 1k, but there is no way they will sell the place out like BYU would.

Fischer gets the point of the article. TCU might bring 1000 people.

Oh, that's for certain. I never said they would. You can drive from Provo to LV. It will cost an arm and a leg to get from DFW to LV once the bowls are announced but there are a good 8-10k fans who will do it. The talk now is TCU/BSU in the PB. I'd actually like that better than a matchup against a mediocre Pac-10 team. That would give TCU it's 4th matchup of the year against a team ranked in the top 10 at the time of the game. Hearing rumblings of a Chick-fil-a Bowl possibility but I don't see how that would happen in a million years. The ACC won't give up their spot in that game but it was rumored by some Clemson fans...probably just to stir the pot on GP rumors. They are in the running for a Sugar Bowl birth but that's almost as unlikely as the CFA Bowl. More than likely it will go to Ohio State. The other contenders would be us, BSU, and Ball State. The same Graham Watson said that Sugar Bowl officials weren't impressed with Boise State's big win over a FSU team that quit. Who knows?
It's highly unlikely but the fact that we have two losses, are at #11 now, will have a top 10 finish with a bowl win, and are being at least slightly considered for a BCS game is simply amazing. If somehow the Sugar Bowl takes Boise and we are left out of the LVB it will leave us w/ the PB against LaTech or some other God-awful team. Our bowl tie-ins really suck.

Fischer gets the point of the article. TCU might bring 1000 people. Once again, you are comparing apples to oranges.

yeah, if the bowl was in dallas, then BYU would have more people there than TCU.
The reason your bowl ties suck, is because your conference sucks. The reason your conference sucks, is because your school sucks.
By the way, if tcu gets a sugar bowl invite it will be the end of the BCS. That would be a catalyst to show that the system is EXTREMELY flawed. tcu in a bcs and teams like tceh, osu, ga. tech all left out? Unreal.

THE SUGAR BOWL? Are you kidding me? Please show me any REPUTABLE source that says TCU is being considered for the Sugar Bowl?

Tech and OSU can't go b/c a conference can only have two teams in the BCS. Ga. Tech gets left out b/c they have THREE losses and won't get the auto-bid.
