Sounds to me like he's comparing TCU to BYU... No, he's drawing a conclusion based off the off-base comments of an ignorant woman. The conclusion was that since TCU had "500" fans in Vegas for a conference game against a pathetic UNLV, it would stand to reason they would bring that many for a bowl game.

I know that the rules state that tceh and OSU can't go. Hence, the comment that it would be the end of the bcs if a very average team from a very crappy conference got the nod over deserving teams from real conferences because of stupid rules.

A crappy conference with as many teams in the BCS standings as the SEC and more teams than the Pac-10 and Big East. Before this week they had more teams than the ACC and Big 11. I think you might be getting them confused with Ball State or Boise.
And it would NOT end the BCS. There's too much money. ESPN just paid something to the tune of 500 MILLION for the broadcast rights once Fox's deal ends.

I thought it was more along the lines of 100 MILLION?

Since you weren't specific it's 1.25 MILLION per year. Making your statement accurate but unspecific.

125 not 1.25. The current BCS is set to expire in 2014. Once could safely assume that it's a 4 year deal since that would coincide with the expiration.

125 is obviously what I meant.

The fact that those teams are even in the same breath as someone from the SEC is proof that the BCS is flawed and needs to be scrapped.
Teams aren't rewarded for playing against teams with quality talent, in hostile environments, with something real on the line.
Instead, a team like utah, or tcu gets fired up for one real game and then all of a sudden is one of the best teams in the country. Other than the one game, they play other mediocre to crappy teams like themselves.

That's why they went 25-11 in OOC and 9-5 against BCS teams...
I guess we should all defer to you instead of the 120+ voters that AP and coaches poll, the 100+ voters in the Harris Poll, and all the computer wizzes...

absolutley.
Sports writers are terrible at what they do. The only people worse at their jobs than sports writers are weathermen.
The way the polls are set up is why people vote those crap schools in front of real schools. Georgia Tech would absolutley demolish any non BCS school. So would tceh, osu, Ole Miss, Va, Tech, Boston College, Clemson, Oregon, Oregon State and a host of other schools. But those schools aren't being considered for a BCS bowl.

Stubbs is in favor of equality among all. Hence the screen name. Steal BCS spots from the rich to give to the poor.

No, it's not stealing it's getting them when earned. Hear me out, I'm not going to be crying foul when Ohio State gets the Sugar Bowl over TCU and Boise. Boise had an incredibly weak schedule. TCU and OSU have had similar years. OSU travels well and does really well on TV. I have no problem with that.
Fischer, I agree with you in that GaTech is a really good football team. They came on very strong at the end of the year once the players got used to Johnson's system. They are young and have a lot too look forward to in the next few years as do Miami, FSU, and VaTech. I was very impressed with how they man-handled Miami's quick D. But let's get real. They lost three games and beat GARDNER-WEBB 10-7! Yep, they demolished that non-BCS school...They have been terribly inconsistent and by not winning their conference they have no business going to a BCS game.
BC-Yep, you're right. They demolished Kent State, Central Florida, and Rhode Island. Clemson too...The Citadel and South Carolina State (they're black). UVA...yep, them too-Richmond and ECU. VaTech...yep...they demolished Western Kentucky 27-13 and Furman 24-7...oh wait, that's not a demolition and neither is LOSING to ECU. Ole Miss...yep, them too. Memphis, Samford, and ULaMon. Oregon...yep, they demolished Utah State...but wait, they lost to Boise... Oregon State...yeah, they beat the crap out of Hawai'i but hold on...they lost to Utah...
I see what you're trying to say but the facts don't exactly add up.
