They're still going. They have UNLV and SDSU. Now way they lose those two. Finish 7-5 and go to the Houston Bowl against a Big XII team.
I may be out on Saturday...I threw out my fist pump arm out last night flipping off the OC. I've about had it with that guy. 3rd and 2...let's run the short side option...just like we always do! The announcers saw it coming! I know Fischer will give me hell for this but he sucks and needs to go. We have a guy that carried the ball 29 times last week for over 100 yards (95% of which were between the tackles) and they try to use the speed burner to turn the corner...and it never worked. I want to say he lost the game for us but in all honesty, BYU should have won by 4 TDs.

You would think TCU had the ath-ah-letes that could outrun Morman linebackers to the corner?

What's maddening is that they are much better than their record. They just can't seem to put it together on game day. For once the offense had a pretty consistent game against a tough opponent.

Matt is sickly and injury-prone. Maybe he needs to go on the IR.

What really sucks is that to get rid of Schultz, you may have to get rid of Patterson. Those two are attached at the hip. It's quite a dilemma. I certainly don't want Patterson to go...but I'm tired over everybody on the planet knowing what's coming. And you know what? He actually had a pretty good game last night. He opened some things up and did some things that hadn't been seen from the offense all year...but 5 keys plays (that you may have missed) ruined it all.

First of all, they are absolutley not better than their record. Not putting it together is what makes a team bad. That is like saying "we would have won if we scored more and they scored less." They are every bit as mediocre as their sorry record. That is a stupid comment. They may have more talent than you would assume a 5-5 team to have, but that doesn't make them better, it actually makes them worse.
Second, the OC may not be the next Bill Walsh but... YOU DO NOT PICK THE SIDE OF THE FIELD YOU RUN THE OPTION TO. How hard is that to understand? Seriously, why do all these pencil neck know it alls think that you have to run all plays to the wide side of the field? If a defense is giving you a play to the short side, you take it. Sometimes players don't execute, or the defense makes a good play, but you run a play that alignment gives you. I fully expect you to disregard this fact because it doesn't help your argument, but there it is.
Like I said, though, he probably does need to go...the offense is extremely lethargic and unproductive. But its not because he calls the dad gum "short side option"

Cue an extra long stubbs layout followed by the "I got busy at work" excuse.

Or the ten page reply. He's getting it typed up in Word, so it doesn't time out on him.

Or even better: The long layout, then the "I had a big reply typed up that made sense and mapped out an insightful and logical response, but it timed out and I didn't want to retype it." post.

Ok...whatever...they have more talent than a 5-5 record...tomato, tomato.
The option shouldn't be called at all in the situations it was last night. 3rd and short and you leave a guy on the bench that hits the called hole, puts his head down, and is always leaning forward. Shortside, longside, weakside, strongside...whatever...the use of the option there was inappropriate. The option can be a vital piece to an offense but it hasn't worked all year. They just don't have the personel to execute it this year. The O-line is young and the RBs have been banged up...and the QB is slow as Christmas. And 3rd and a foot is not the time to run it.

No, I fielded about 5 phone calls, sent off 3 faxes, and replied to 4 emails in between all that.

Wow, field five phone calls, send 3 faxes, reply to 4 emails, and learn how to call an offense all in 20 minutes. Maybe they should hire you.
Seriously though, maybe the option is not what they should have run, I didn't watch it. But your gripe was the short side option. I was just saying. I still maintain that the OC knows more about what to run than you do. Even a terrible OC.
