DBU to the WAC for baseball. The WAC now now has TSU, UTA, UTSA, and DBU.
I heard that a building on the south side of 114 between Rochelle and Brinn imploded...it's either Big Brother and Big Sisters, Church of Scientology Dallas, Chase, or the Big XII.
Why the Big XII didn't kickstart this thing when the other two left last year is beyond me. BYU and TCU were no-brainers. This conference of 14 would be great.

Now Villanova has applied to the ACC for membership.

Tcu is not a no brainer. They bring zero viewers to the conference.

Tcu is not a no brainer. They bring zero viewers to the conference. That's a misnomer. Just because a team has a small fan base doesn't mean people won't watch them. TV is all about matchups. If it was about size of fanbase A&M/Idaho would have been on FSN rather than PPV at $39.99 a pop. Bama/UNT wouldn't have been available on-line only. That's why TCU/Baylor outdrew A&M/SMU. It was a better matchup. Why do you think the Fiesta Bowl with TCU/BSU outdrew every BCS game except the NCG? People were intrigued by the matchup. Tech/New Mexico had horrendous ratings the other day. Tech has a lot of fans...why didn't it draw well? Boise St doesn't have a lot of fans but why are it's TV numbers decent, even for a Friday night? People are intrigued. Same with TCU. Sure, they may tumble into obscurity in a couple years but right now they are one of the hottest commodities left. Do more people want to see TCU and Texas or Cincinnati and Texas? TCU and OU or OU and Louisville? It's not on the same scale as Miami during their 25 year run but love 'em or hate 'em people tune in to see a good matchup. FWIW, I saw one of the Rose Bowl reps at the game the other day.

Actually Bama/UNT was on the TV. I watched it.

It was on FSSW+ and many cable outlets do not carry the secondary channel. Those that do mostly include it on an upper tier sports package which 1) most people don't purchase and 2) those that do may not even know it exists.

you just touched on it yourself.
They have no staying power. At least they haven't proved that they have any. Comparing tcu's biggest game of the year (sans Boise) to A&M vs Idaho and Alabama vs UNT is not quite accurate.
History says that in a couple of years TCU will be back to being a decent mid major.
They are like a reality tv star who thinks they belong up there with the big dogs.

I would compare this to Jesse Holley's big day on Sunday. He will soon return to a spare special-teamer who is useful, but won't likely make as big of a play as he did a couple days ago.

They are like a reality tv star who thinks they belong up there with the big dogs. How many teams actually have staying power as far as interest? UT, Michigan, ND? Very few do. Do VT, Miami, and BC add as much to the ACC footprint as they did when they moved? Look at A&M over the last few years. They have a huge fan base but only a handful of games on TV. If you're not any good they won't put you on TV unless you're one of those. The reason the SEC wanted A&M is not soley b/c of the number of TV sets in Houston and DFW. It's about the footprint. How can we recruit more players? How can we improve our teams so our schools can be attractive to the best and brightest students? How can Ole Miss, Florida, Tennessee get more applications from Texas? Ole Rodrick Jefferson is being recruited by Auburn...maybe that's some place I'd like to go to school too. At the end of the day I think that's more important than how many sets of eyes are watching TV. The contracts have been written. The entire SEC could go on probation with no TV and they'll still get their money. ESPN has to worry about viewers and ad revenue, not the conference. TV helps establish the footprint but it's not the foothold. That's why I make the case for TCU over TTU. What kind of footprint can USC, Cal Berkley, and Stanford make in Lubbuck? But then what kind of impact can they make in DFW when they send their football, baseball, and basketball teams there every year? DFW has a large, diverse, and educated population that several of those west coast schools would love to tap into.

That's a good point Danny.
Brainstorming here:
This may have been discussed somewhere and already be set up, but if Mizzou and Texas A&M are the only ones to join the SEC for next season, would they reorder the divisions or throw Mizzou in the East? I think it would be interesting if they just reordered the whole thing (although I don't think the current SECers would be happy with that).
West: Miss Miss St LSU Arkansas TAMU Mizzou Kentucky/ Vandy
East: Florida SC Auburn Bama Georgia Tenn Kentucky/ Vandy

Over a third of the teams will either be the Tigers or Bulldogs. It would be real unstable if somehow Clemson was asked/able to leave the ACC. And I don't what we would do if Gonzaga decided to leave the WCC.
