WV has a total population of 1.7M. If it's about TV sets they bring little. I wouldn't even count on those 1.7M having TV's.

I see it the other way. A&M is letting Baylor hold them hostage. The SEC said all along, they would extend an invite to A&M, if all Big 12 institutions would agree to no litigation. That puts the ball in A&M's court to make sure their current conference buddies agree to let them go. A&M and Baylor need to work this out, not SEC and Baylor. I know you say random things just to see if it sticks, so I am sure this is the response you are looking for: That is really stupid. You obviously haven't followed this situation at all. There is not one part of that post that is accurate.

that notice is definitely not an issue. All of that is negotiable.
the 1.7 million tv's is an issue and I agree that WVU isn't choice one. But there is a lot of smoke that they are going to be in the mix.
Also, the litigation thing is ridiculous. Conferences have exit clauses in their contracts. This deal by Baylor is a freaking joke. If the SEC would've left that caveat out I doubt anyone would've said anything. A waiver has never been requested in a conference realignment.
I am a little worried that somehow Baylor might have some dirt on the SEC, or at least some sort of evidence that none of us are privy to. They have to have something to be making the SEC balk, because from everything that's been released, Baylor has zero case.

If nothing came of SCam last year then nothing can touch them.
A few other things about WVU. Their endowment is only $400M. I believe they are a tier 3 university. I think the SEC would like to try to improve their academic reputation.
They will be in the discussion but they will be at best the 4th or 5th choice.

If they want A&M that bad, this would all be over with. I really think this is between A&M and Baylor/Big12. The SEC is going to keep they're hands clean as they have all along so far. I'm sure they're ok with 12 teams.

They are ok with 12 teams but to them A&M is the one team they would open expansion for. There's no other team in the country that I can think of that they would want more. They wouldn't want UT b/c of their ego. OU doesn't quite bring the same fanbase. Aggies are like mormons...they're everywhere and they open Texas to recruiting. Fanbase and recruiting are the 2 things they want.

I do agree with A&M being the one team they would accept. I just don't think they're willing to fight for it, and are ok where they are. That's just based on their actions so far, in my opinion. Whether this 'sticks' or not. That's how it looks to me. It's not the SEC's fight to get A&M. It's A&M's fight to get the SEC.

Who would have thought in a million years that Baylor would be 'making a stand' for Texas football? The fact that they were able to hold this whole thing up is funny to me. A small private institution in Waco is standing in between the #1 conference in the country, and arguably the best collegiate institution in the state.

UT called an all-coaches meeting today. No, not all football staff...all coaches in all sports.

UT and Pac# are worlds apart on a deal. OU and OSU may go as early as today. If UT goes it will probably be weeks before that happens.
Looks like WVU may be a probable target for the SEC afterall. The ACC voted unanomously to raise the exit fee to 20M thus proving FSU, Clemson, and VT were too scared to go in the first place. WVU may be taken b/c there's nothing else left.
TCU is currently on the outside looking in but the odds of them ending up in the Pac# or SEC have increased. They went from not a chance to 'well, that might work.' Still a long-shot but better than they were previously.
I think the best scenario would be for the Big XII to stay together, with our without the OK schools. If they stay then TCU, BYU, and Louisville are likely additions to get to 12. Add AFA or Boise and then Memphis or Cincy if they want 14. If just the OK schools leave then BYU, TCU, AFA, BSU, LV, Memphis, and Cincy make sense for 14. The Texas and mountain schools in the west. The rest in the east. This is something TCU would actually support and I think could become a good football conference on par with the everything but the SEC.

Big 12 has fumbled over themselves throughout this whole process. There is no way they survive and grow the conference.
I hear a building is available in Las Colinas starting in the Fall of 2012.
