GP firing off some HSO's on the officials right now! It was the worst-officiated game I have ever seen. I give up my criticism of the officiating for the Baylor game-this was about 100x worse. SMU was gifted 14 points by poor officiating. When TCU wasn't too busy shooting itself in the foot the officials were cracking them in the kneecaps. One of the main reasons TCU left CUSA was b/c of the officiating in all sports. CUSA pimped us out for every night of the week but would kick us in the nads with the officiating. GP just said that the head of CUSA officiating was going to say something publicly but hasn't so he is.
Sure, we got lit up at times and the fumble on the opening kickoff is inexcuseable but TCU should have won that game. SMU's opening drive was kept alive by a phantom PI call which overturned an INT. Another TD drive was kept alive when the back judge went up in the stands, used the portapots, stood in line for a drink, and then came down to the field and threw the flag. The field judge who was 8 feet from the play saw everything and didn't even think of throwing the flag.
The same BJ didn't call delay of game when the punt returner clearly waved for a fair catch and ran. The referee had to watch the replay on the video board three times before throwing the flag. That didn't have any consequence on the game but it was BS like that that was awful. GP said he won't name names but he has those names written down and those guys will never set foot in his stadium again.
GP just had some HSOs about June Jones and SMU too. I love it. He basically said "I'm 8-3 against you guys...don't go around saying stuff has changed."
Congrats to SMU...they got their licks in against a very young team and won in Fort Worth for the first time since before I had a driver's license. How cute.
