That TCU pitching staff isn't looking so hot so far, are they? I guess the record crowds at home with the stadium improvements isn't helping.

I thought TCU was doing good. This is probably due to Stubbs posting on Facebook about each win and talking them up. He failed to post anything on any losses. Most preseason rankings had them in the top 10, with one as high as #3 I believe. They still could have a great season, they are just off to a very rough start.

Ags lose a bad one today to winless Utah 2-1.
Had a runner on third in the bottom of the 9th with no outs. First two batters struck out and the third grounded out to first. Pitching is till top notch but the bats have just been down right awful.

Tough weekend for the Ags as they dropped their third game of the year to Rice 1-0.
They were able to bounce back Sunday with a 11-4 win Houston. Also had a player hit for the cycle.
Now they have what should be a easy win against Centenary on Tuesday but have a tough weekend series with 10-2 FIU at home. Hopefully the bats are starting to warm up to go with the great pitching so far.
TCU got back on track sweeping tech in Lubbock this weekend.

I thought TCU was doing good. This is probably due to Stubbs posting on Facebook about each win and talking them up. He failed to post anything on any losses. Wrong...I posted about that 14 inning loss to KU, the 2-1 loss to CalStF, and the loss to DBU. It's been a frustrating year so far and no, Sully, it hasn't been because of pitching. Here's their 4 losses: 4-3 in 14 to KU. 18 runners LOB. 8-4 to Cal-St Fullerton. I believe they were down 2-1 going into the 8th. 2-1 to CSF where the Titans scored in the top of the 9th and TCU left two runners on in the 9th. 4-3 to DBU. It's not like they've been blown out. 18 runs in 4 losses. Most teams would take a 4.25 ERA all season. The bats have been hanging upside down in a dark cave somewhere. Jason Coats was expected to be their top hitter and lead RBI guy and he had one hit and 0 RBIs coming into the weekend. I think he ended up with 7 hits and 5 RBIs. Way too many runners LOB. Dumb baserunning mistakes. After the first 8 games they had one inning of scoring more than two runs all season-the first inning of the first game where they scored 5 without getting a ball out of the infield. The bats finally woke up this weekend. They had 77 hits as a team coming into the Tech series and had around 30 for the weekend. It was a strange series. Tech scored 7 runs on 1 hit. Stephen Maxwell had a no-no going into the 5th on Saturday. Leadoff guy gets a hit. Then he walks 3 and hits 1. They bring in a new guy who walks one and hits another. A 6th run that inning was scored on a passed ball. 6 runs. 1 hit. 4 walks. 2 HBP. One PB. I thought it was the catastrophic moment for the year. Yesterday, TCU was shutting out the Tards going into the bottom of the 9th when a freshman walked 3 and then threw a wild pitch. Next guy strikes out and then they turn 2. For the most part the pitching has been outstanding. I'll have to look up the team ERA but I'm willing to bet it's under 2. Get this, Friday's game was the highest attended game in Lubbock since Texas came through in '06. Has Tech just been that bad over the last 5 years that no one even wants to come see Texas, A&M, or Baylor? Purke has been awesome...when he's pitched. He threw 4 innings in the opener with one hit before developing a blister. He didn't pitch again until yesterday when he dominated for 6 innings giving up only 1 hit. It was his first outing in 15 days. The blister prevented him from getting his normal throwing in so Schloss decided to push him back a week. TCU has a new ginger-haired hero as well. Freshman 1B Brett Johnson from Plano has pushed senior Joe Weik to the DH position. He's a quiet, unassuming kid who looks like Opie Cunningham. He struggled over the weekend but in the 8 games he's played he has come up with key hits, been patient at the plate, and made some outstanding plays in the field.

Actually, with the KU loss being 14 innings their team ERA in the losses is 3.95.

Yes, tech has been that horrible the last five years. Not only in baseball, but in basketball as well.
I like it when they lose at everything.

Looks like they're going to get BCG and Jim Christian is going to pilot Frog basketball into the cellar going into the Big East.

They'll get him. He'll do well there too. But he doesn't have acie or j.j. there with him in Lubbock. It'll take a while

If BCG wants the job it's his, but I don't know why people are so worried about it. He'll win 7-10 games per year but never really challenge for the top of the conference. That's fine with me as long as Turge keeps moving the team in the right direction. I'm happy with 3rd place in the Big 12 and a tourney bid this year, but I want to see us move to the next level next year.

He turned Aggie basketball from a laughing-stock to a top team in the Big XII. I don't see why you think he will be below average every year.

I dont see the Ags getting out of the second round. I'm actually a little nervous about the first round. They are looking like they will pull about a 7 seed right now. They'll need to beat Texas in the Big 12 tourny to move up anymore. Their offense is just too sketchy and it seems like they are constantly missing free throws. Turnovers are also a problem. Hopefully Middleton can step it up next year and be more of a dominant player. They need to find that "special" player. My brother is mentioning a PG named Branch coming in next year that he is excited about.
