You'll have a hard time finding two better games in CWS history that USC's last two. Weird that both times the winning run was scored on an error in a game that featured outstanding defense.
I love watching how they play the game. Well coached team.

Give me South Carolina and Florida in the championship series. I doubted SC all of last year and they continued to prove me wrong. They were often sloppy in BP and while taking infield but they turned it on when it mattered. Until someone knocks them off, they're the team to beat. It's very rare that I get a sports prediction right and even more rare that I hit the nail square on the head. I'd like to take the time to pat myself on the back. Something like this will probably never happen again. This might be the best moment of my life. USC was a real treat to watch. They do all the little things right. Their coach deserves a huge raise. Players like that are a coach's dream. No big stars...just a bunch of kids that play together as one unit. When one stumbles 24 others are there to pick him up. When all they needed was one player to make one play he made it. Their pitching was great. Their defense was phenomenal. Their hitting was clutch. I can't recall another team since I've had CWS conscience (26 years now) that I've enjoyed watching more. It was really cool that a team like this closed out the Blatt and opened the new stadium back-to-back. It would have really sucked if a team like UT had done that. |
