Luckily I strive to not make the same mistake twice. Hmmmm.....that's one habit I'm terribly good at, see my wife for details.

Do y'all still have the same view of this? I've not heard this mentioned anywhere in a year and a half. To hear y'all talk it was going to make him immortal.
There have been perfect games and no hitters since, and I couldn't even remember the guy's name. NO ONE has brought this instance up in the media. Or on here for that matter.

Are you serious? Not only do I have the same view, but it has also been correct.
I was just watching a game the other night with Jim Joyce as the home plate ump. They spent the entire first half inning talking about the missed call and how well Joyce and Galarraga handled it afterward.
I don't think anyone said it would make the guy immortal, but it's certainly talked about more than if it was a perfect game. To be honest I can't even remember the name of the guy that threw one a few weeks ago.
Not to mention you pretty much just proved our point by bumping this thread. I guarantee the second you saw the thread title you knew exactly what it was about and at least remembered some details about what happened. Had the thread title said 'Armando Galarraga throws perfect game', I doubt it would have prompted a bump.

Haha I went looking for the thread because I was watching hamiltons 4 hr night and espn, fox, all the local channels were saying how it was more rare than a perfect game. That reminded me how y'all said that would be talked about for years. I bumped it because NO ONE has spoken if it for a year and a half. Not here or anywhere else.
I watch a whole lot of baseball. I've seen plenty of games with Joyce umping. I've not heard them mention the blown call in over a season. I highly doubt that the commentators spent an inning on it, but even if they did, you got the only mention of it in a season and a half. Hell, when the perfect game was thrown the other day would've been a prime opportunity for it to be brought up. It wasnt.

Tick agrees with me.
Also, last week when the worst call in MLB history happened, no one brought this up

Really? I guess I just watch the wrong games. They haven't once mentioned it on baseball tonight or sports center, or Sunday night baseball. Or the ticket. Or any rangers game.
I figured this year they would mention it since there has been a perfect game, a no hitter, a four hr night (which was compared to perfect games), and a horribly blown call. But I still haven't heard any mention of it

Everytime I hear the name Joyce or Galarraga, I think of it. Joyce called first at the game I went to Sunday and some of the fans started talking about it when they announced the crew. That's what he's famous for. I heard them talk about it briefly on Baseball Tonight and MLB Network when Humber threw his perfect game, as they were running through the last few before him, and the near misses.
