The whole thing is a shame. It sux for Galaraga but he took it in stride. He smiled after the call. He knew it was bad but he also knows there's not a damn thing you can do about it. Joyce felt bad. He knew he was wrong, but I definitely think the baseball commissioner should NOT consider reversing the call. That's how the game is played. I say grab your balls boys and get back on the field! Man up.

Yeah the doube negative confused me too.
Saddened that Sully doesn't acknowledge the great Don Larson's perfect World Series game.

Bump
Hey Fisch, just thought you would like to know that Outside the Lines just did an entire show about this with only a slight mention of the two other perfect games this year.

That is the first I've heard of it since days after it happened.
At this rate, it'll be long forgotten by next season.

They mention it on the Rangers broadcast every time Jim Joyce is umpiring.

I'm with you Framp.
Side note: Joyce and Galarraga were also presenters together at the ESPY's, I don't think Braiden or Halladay were even there.

Yeah, the espys are a great indicator of what we'll talk about in the future...

The more rare happening is talked about more. As the perfect game is rare, this game is more rare. My steaks are also quite rare.

Yeah, the espys are a great indicator of what we'll talk about in the future... Question: Did Dallas Braiden or Roy Halladay get some sort of special treatment? Or any of the other guys that have thrown no hitters that you can't name without a google search?

whether or not they got special treatment is not the argument.
The argument originally (I think) is will this be remembered years from now over an actual perfect game.
I still don't think it will.

Just a heads up, OTL did a 20 minute piece today on Jim Joyce and how he has dealt with his mistake. I just thought that was interesting.

I wasn't watching it but glanced at it a few times and saw that he has received numerous death threats.
