Going to be back in the stand Sat afternoon through Tuesday night. Hoping I can finally see something to get the blood pumping.

Well, its been pretty shitty so far. My old coach, blake, came out with us for a night and day. Sat at the hex last night and saw one yearling doe in range. Saw a big doe and buck out in the neighbors field probably 400 yards away. This morning we sat at the back 40 and saw a big doe or spike at first light but couldn't tell for sure what it was so didn't get a shot on it before it was gone. Then two big does high tailed it across in front of us but wouldn't stop for nothing. A few mins later a big buck popped out trotting around and I got the scope on him. He turned and was missing his entire left side of his antlers. Looked like he had 4 or 5 good points on the one side. Big buck.
This afternoon I'm sitting at the cut. All the goats have dropped babies and they are all over the place. Seen a bunch of dead ones laying around too. Hoping it gets better.

Well the hunting kept sucking for me. I'm real down on the place. No one saw much at all except for Fischer on one afternoon hunt.
He shot my boy, Jim.

In the stand in good ole Hardeman County, where the wildlife is plentiful. Its 45 degrees and real heavy fog. Saw two does on the way out here. Big hog down under the feeder now. Driving out here from el paso yesterday, we saw about 20 muleys, 10 to 15 whitetail, scattered bucks, 5 or 6 hogs and 2 pheasant. All within the last hour of the trip.
Can barely see right now. Got a good feeling.

Hog moved on. Biggest one I've seen I think. A doe and yearling just passed through. Didn't stop. The yearling here was as big as most does we see at the lease. Sad.

Turkeys are getting off the roost behind me. I forget how loud those suckers are. Just heard a shot in the distance. Wish we had our feeder setup with timers at this place.

No buck sightings yet. Turkeys are spilling out now though. Coming in waves. Should have brought the 22. Can hear a pack of coyotes down in the creek

Just saw another couple of does. Then a busted up 8 strolled through. He was missing two whole points.

Man.. Any bad day hunting is better than a good day working.
Hardeman County eh?
Quanah was named after one of my way back in the day relatives of the Parker family.
