The Ags just got a commitment from San Antonio Reagan defensive lineman Spencer Nealy.
He is going to walk on at A&M. He has full ride offers from Houston and TCU.
The Ags are the 11th place team in the Big 12 and still get kids to walk on over going to tcu. ouch. Gotta love the MWC.

Actually, his only offer was TCU. Houston did not offer him.
He had received interest from A&M, tceh, Ga. Tech, Stanford, and Baylor.
Only offer was TCU.

Coach, how big is this kid? To walk on BIG 12 you must be a stud.

He is 6'5" 250. Runs a 4.7
He plays DE.
Evidently he has a huge upside, but must not be that good yet, or he would have more offers.

That is huge. Lean, but still huge.

If we can just land C. Mike or Loston, Sherman will have a pretty dang good first class for as bad as we sucked this year.

If we got Loston, it would be amazing. That kid is awesome.
He is on campus as we speak, leaving this afternoon. COME ON SHERMAN!!
C mike would be nice, as would Burkhead. But Loston would be the biggest steal.

I think we have a pretty good shot at C. Mike as long as LSU doesn't offer. If they do he is gone, but as of right I think we are in lead. I agree Loston would be huge, but I don't think we have a real chance unless Sherman just blows him away.

Loston would be huge for anyone. As of last week there was "interest" with TCU but haven't heard anything since. I bet he ends up at LSU.
The Nealy thing is no big deal. Marginal players do that a lot in all sports. He probably grew up wanting to be an Aggie. There was a guy I went to HS and TCU with that had a D-1 offer from some Missouri Valley school or somesuch. He always liked TCU and his mother had just died so he thought he'd stay home. He tried to walk on to TCU instead.
I haven't heard anything about Nealy in over a month anyway. We have some great commits so far and he's been an afterthought for a while. We already have 3 DEs (two from Maud).
So what if we lost a guy? We have guys who have gotten offers from OU, Tech, Nebraska, GaTech, OSU, Notre Dame, Florida, Ark, etc...I don't see what point you're trying to make.

I knew you would say something like that (I was hoping).
-First, Loston has never ever mentioned the letters T C and U in that order in any interview or on any recruiting list. I am a member of Rivals and I have read every article published on the kid. His interest list is "medium" on every school on his list. That list does not include tcu, never has. -Second, a player that has a written offer in hand from your school, decided to walk on at a Big time program (that is very down). The ONLY way that is not a big deal is if your school is a tier 3 program. So, there are a few possibilities here; you are delusional, you are finally admitting tcu is tier 3, or you are just lying. I think its choice A, but you know B is true as well.
I will admit, you have 3 kids that have impressive offer lists. But your class is ranked 38th in the nation coming off of the best season in 5 decades. Not too impressive.

Now, from all of the updates I have heard:
C mike is a heavy Ag lean right now, and could possibly have already committed to the coaches (lots of those rumors going on), but is announcing his commitment at the All America game.
Its a two horse race for Loston, as it ALWAYS has been. LSU, Ags. He is probably an LSU lean right now, but his family loves A&M and his best friend and former teammate is Rod Davis who is a true freshman at A&M right now. If Sherman swept him off of his feet on his official, he might sign with the good guys.
Plano RB/Ath Rex Burkhead has not tipped his hand much at all during his recruitment. He was in for an official this weekend and had a great time and really likes RB coach Randy Jordan. He really likes the Ags, but he is really hard to read right now.
Michigan has released former cyfair RB Sam McGuffie. Sources say he is a lock to be an Aggie next year, as the Ags were nearly his choice last spring. We shall see. He has said that A&M is his favorite, but that tceh is also an option.
Overall, if we could land Loston it would be the biggest. C Mike is the next most important, then Burkhead. McGuffie is great, but he has to sit out a year and only has 3 left. The good thing on McGuffie is that his schollarship would count against last year's class.

Guff is down to TAMU, UH, and TCU. With TCU already getting commits from Waymon James and Matthew Tucker AND I've heard they are almost solid with Miami transfer Shawnbrey McNeal, I'd think he would shy away from Ft. Worth. He has some family problems and would like to stay home. TAMU would be a good fit but he's a stud and could rack up some major numbers in CUSA. He's had several concussions so that could be cause for concern.
Back to Nealy...you never know with kids. TCU has 3 DE commits before him and 4 more on the deptchart that are either fr or sophs. He knew the odds were against him. CS is closer to home. He might be a huge Aggie fan. He might be able to get academic scollies. It's a very good school. He might have a lot of friends going there. You never know what goes through the head of a kid like that.

Oh, since when did Rivals become the be-all-end-all anyway?

its not the be all end all. but its real evidence. What do you have?
McGuffie's top two are A&M and tceh, he has said so. OSU is next and TCU and UH are last resorts.
Shawnbrey McNeal is a pretty nice pick up for the Frogs, though. We recruited him last year and lost him to Miami.

Scratch Burkhead off of that list. He just committed to Nebraska. He wasn't even a possibility until recently, and I guess it was just too little too late.
