Now the story is that The Ags will not even offer McGuffie.
This was looking so promising.
maybe they are freeing up some ships for Loston and C Mike.

Stubbs, just to show you that Loston is not considering anyone else other than LSU, and A&M, this is from ESPN, and is confirmed by Rivals and an independent site for A&M:
Craig Loston to make final decision at Under Armour Game The nation's No. 1-rated safety, Craig Loston, told ESPN's Billy Tucker that he will be choosing between LSU and Texas A&M January 2nd at the Burger King Skills Challenge during the Under Armour All-American week.

My gut says he'll stay home at Coug High. Don't know the extent of the family problems but now I hear they affect his brother AND sister.
How much of a deterant is Joe Kines in recruiting?

Just telling you what I heard. The guy that tracks recruiting on the TCU board continuously scoops Scout and Rivals. In fact, they've been known to steal from him. He just said there was "interest." That's all he would say. He's said about 1000x more about McGuffie.

Joe Kines is not a deterant. All of the players love him. He is still considered one of the top DC's in the country. Stupid comment.
I don't know where McGuffie will go, but I guess its not A&M, since they have decided not to offer (as of this morning). Doubt it will be TCU, even without family problems. He would never be heard from again.
Evidently your TCU board guy is a dumbass. No one, other than this guy I guess, has ever mentioned Loston and TCU in the same sentence. Including Loston. I highly doubt Rivals or Scout steals from him. That sounds like a typical bratty statement from the brattiest fan base in the country.

Who cares if the players love him? His defense was 114th in the nation. 115 against the run-in a pass-happy conference! Players can love a coach all they want but if he doesn't produce, he doesn't produce. By all accounts the players liked Pat Sullivan but he didn't produce and had to go.

I actually think Rivals gets a lot of their info from desportes.cogida.

Stubbs,
Joe Kines has had top 10 deffenses multiple times. He implemented a new scheme with kids who are athletically not able to play in that system. Same thing that happens at nearly every school when they put in new systems.
You really do lack any sort of sense when it comes to recruiting. You are extremely ignorant on the matter. Players loving him has a TON to do with recruiting. How could that not matter when you are tring to get a kid to come to your school?

Yep. It's happened several times. This guy would put something in his blog and a few days later Rivals or Scout would write almost the same thing word for word. One of them, Rivals I think, has stopped and made nice with the guy. There was a physical altercation at a basketball game with the guy that runs TCU's Scout page.

haha take a step back and read what you are writing.
maybe the rivals reporter for TCU has done this, but not Rivals as a company. Those are two different things all together.
TCU has a rivals correspondent that writes as a side gig about TCU. Real rivals articles are written by national correspondents who are full time employees and write on a national level.
No national Rivals article ever includes TCU.

Post the blog in question with a time stamp. Then, post the Rivals article that copied him, with the same stamp. Most articles will have a date published.

The last instance was in early 2007-just before the signing period. I'd have to look back at 200+ threads. I'm not going to go to any length to prove it. It happened. That's why I don't put much stock into Rivals and especially Scout.
