My bad on Amon Carter. I didn't know it was so cavernous that they could squeeze 44k in there.
Using capacities from a few years ago proves nothing. Stadiums all over the country are getting bigger. Look at Michigan, texas, A&M, Alabama, Tennessee, OU, OSU, and the ones you listed for proof. So sure, Ole Miss used to be smaller. Its not anymore. Not sure what you were getting at (I'm sure you aren't either).
I didn't mean to be ambigous (pretty sure I wasn't but you don't seem to understand the most obvious of points).
Big time stadium =/= great atmosphere. The University of Texas has a big time stadium. As does UCLA, USC, etc. None of those has a great atmosphere.
The Big 12 has 2 Big time stadiums.
The SEC has 9-10 depending on if you count Kentucky's 67k
Atmosphere would be just that. The atmosphere of the place on gameday. The fans, the noise, the stadium, the tailgating, the result on the field, the opposing teams, the importance of the game all have an effect on it.
The Big 12 has ONE good (not really great) gameday atmosphere. That is OU. The rest of them are second rate or worse. I can't wait for you to try to convince me that TCU's atmosphere is great. Its not.
The SEC has 10 great gameday atmospheres.
My point was the Big 12 had a MAJOR downgrade in atmosphere when the Aggies left. The Ags got a HUGE upgrade by joining the SEC.

Is TCU going to fill 44K seats and SRO spots?

You used stadium size as evidence for your claim. I figured that was your biggest proof. I brought up the previous capacities to provide evidence that the SEC hasn't always been the gargantuan bastion of capacital dominance as you make them out to be.
For our size I am impressed by what we do. I never said we were great. SMU has a pretty good atmosphere as well, with the exception of the game, which no one goes to. The Boulevard is pretty cool.
When atmosphere equals wins I'll concede this debate.

Is TCU going to fill 44K seats and SRO spots? Not sure what you mean but with season tickets, student tickets, and visitor's alloment the stadium will be almost completely sold out before the put individual tickets on sale. SRO will probably be sold beginning the Monday before the game.

I mean exactly what I asked. Will they fill it up?

The debate isn't about wins alone. Its about the experience. TCU's is not good. Neither is SMU's.
The SEC expanded on the same level as any of the others.
You used Arkansas' old capacity. Well, did you look at texas' or OU's capacity at the same time. Same with most schools across the country. The expansion has been nationwide, with the exception of a lot of midmajors, which tcu was at the time.

No. TCU has never shown the ability to consistently sell out their 40k seat stadium.
they should get a bump when other teams fans scoop up a bunch of their unsold tickets, though.

You obviously haven't seen the small field littered with Frenchys trucks, bank tents, and the beer man outside of Fouts. Now that is atmosphere.

Yes, it will fill up. And they'll only scoop up tickets if TCU fans put them on Stubhub or Craigslist. There will be 3-4k tickets available to the public at most. I'm sure there's a few broker mixed in the priority points list but not many. Kelly has a friend who's bf is a broker and he said in his circle of about 15 guys only one other is and existing season ticketholder. He bought some last year and is at the very bottom of the list so the best he'll get is somewhere off Hulen. Most brokers, he said, buy tickets off corporations who buy them as a tax write-off.
If any tickets go unsold they will be singles.

It may be old and tired.
But its very accurate and applicable in a discussion about attendance ant atmosphere.
I've yet to hear a coherent argument that refutes what I stated in this thread.
The Big 12 replaced a Big time stadium, and a top atmosphere with a below average stadium and a below average atmosphere.

Oh, so the B12 wanted Aggie gone now? That's a new one.

where did I ever even remotely allude to that?
I said they replaced A&M with TCU. Is that not who replaced A&M after our departure?

Replaced makes it sound like it was a voluntary action.

Now that was a major reach.
You replace a tooth when one falls out. You replace a tire if it blows out. Replace doesn't 'sound' like a voluntary action at all.
