I think we should set this goal for this weekend...
3 does. 3 hogs. 2 varmints.

I want 2 does, 1 hog an exotic, a mountain lion, a fox, a bobcat, and a rabbit.
Lets make it happen.

I can dismiss these...exotic, mountain lion, fox.
The rest are possible. Not probable, but possible. If we pull the trigger once, it'll be better than hunting on the Mills County Goat Farm.

Ahh, gotcha. I was thinking "damn, I wanna go"
I'm hoping for a doe, my son wants to shoot something, which basically means I've got to get something in the scope and let him pull the trigger, but still, hoping we'll get something.

I took Fischer back to my old stomping grounds to get a chance to shoot at a deer this season, since our lease failed to produce a thing. We had a successful hunting day, knocking down 5 does in one day, 4 in the morning hunt and one in the evening. The evening would have been much better, but we got disturbed by 2 trucks driving right through our setup as we were hunting. We didn't even go back Sunday since we were tired of cleaning deer. We saw about 1,000 turkey, maybe even 1,000 deer and a few monster bucks. We thought we'd have better luck with the varmints and hogs, but didn't see a single one. Fischer has pics.

I don't have any pics worth showing.
But It was a great time. Shot two huge does. Never seen anything like it. Turkeys everywhere. Easily 500 (Sully's estimates might be a tad high). Easily saw 200 deer. All in one day.

My dad said they saw 2 bucks all season-one was on the other side of fence in someone else's property and another he couldn't get a clear shot...but saw at least 7 or 8 big ones this weekend. It's like those dudes had a calendar or something. Their place was really hit hard by nearby fires. He said the turkey look like sacred Indian cows and the hogs were almost just as bad. The raccoons are fat as hell, though.

One of the bucks we saw was probably the biggest I've ever seen. We were lucky to get to go to the place we did. It is probably the best ranch in all of North Texas and hasn't been hunted in over 10 years. It was crazy.

Sounds like someone there knows a little something about game preservation.

The kids were gone all weekend, I didn't hunt though. Oh well, hopefully next year won't suck monkey balls.
