Sully '07?
Hard to explain, but I'll try.
Sully is really nice and is a major people pleaser. He was tired of it. He decided on NYE 2006 that Sully '07 was going to be the most over the top, in your face, who cares what you think, badass around.
It lasted a good 2-3 weeks. Sully '07 was dead. But his ghost still appears on some random occassions. Its always fun to see him show up.

She's got 200 acres left to sell. I see what you did there, DB. EXALT! I'm not blonde....I'm rather intelligent on most days...but I'm lost on this as well. Maybe I need more coffee.

200 Acres is a song on Blow the Soot Out. There is a line in it that says "He's got 200 acres left to sell."
Great song.

Sully '07 was killed as soon as I started dating my future wife. This man was going to be the ultimate badass. A man's man that didn't give a shit what anyone thought. He got blindsided early on before he ever got rolling.
The ghost of Sully '07 makes the occassional appearance and it's fun.

I didn't shoot anything.
Sully shot 2 does, finch shot a spike, and Scheu shot a massive 10 point this morning.
I hope to see some pictures of this thing when they get back into town.

It was a pretty good weekend at the lease for the opener. The warming temps and howling wind didn't play into our favor and deer movement was VERY spotty. I was lucky enough to get two does Sunday morning. They each came in about 30 mins apart and a dropped them after watching for a bit to make sure they didn't have bucks in tow.
Finch got his spike literally 30 mins before he was going to head home, so that worked out.
Then, Scheu got a doe yesterday AM right before we were about to leave. It's a pretty good story, which I'll share in the next post.
We'll all be back out next weekend. I'm hoping at least 2 bucks are shot.

So, after our last hunt yesterday morning, Scheu and I decided to pull a fast one one the rest of the group. I took a pic on my phone and sent this out to the rest of the guys on the lease titled Scheu's Big Buck... We spent the next hour or so cleaning it and packing up. Our phones were blowing up with congrats, send the details, tell us about the hunt, etc. Then, I sent out a response telling about the hunt. "Alright. Just left MM's and headed to Hamilton with the cape. Scheu is gonna get a mount from the same place he did last year. Pedastal turned to the left this time. He was in the back 40, I was in the cut. He saw a lot of activity early. 8 point, 7 point, 6 point, spike, 3 does, 2 fawns. I saw nothing. Goats moved in on me so I went to the sendero and started walking around and sat up in a few spots to rattle. It got slow for Scheu for about an hour. I saw a few does and called up two different 4 pointers. I eventually made my way over to the top of the bluff looking down on the back 40. Texted Scheu and he had nothing, so I sat up in the rocks overlooking that fenceline that goes down to the tank. I rattled a bit and a doe hopped over the fence down towards the tank. Then a six point hopped over chasing her. They ran around the fenceline for a while and I texted scheu and told him to look for them. He finally saw them and decided to shoot the doe. He couldn't get a good shot at first, and they worked their way into those dead trees. They were probably 250 yds away. He texted me back and said to try to rattle again or walk down a little and push them out. So I rattled for about 2 to 3 different times over about 10 mins. Then I see this massive 10 pointer walk out from the trees on the other side of the fence. He finally hopped over, and not 5 seconds later I see him drop. Then a split second later, hear the shot. It was awesome! He kicked a few times but was done. I went down to the truck and met him there. The rest is history. I bet it was over a 200 yd shot." Everyone bought it. Fischer even posts about it here. About an hour later Finch calls us and we let him in on the joke. Then, Fischer calls a while later and we can't hold back our laughter. I had to convince him it was really a doe, we had him going so good. Basically everything in the story above is true except for the massive 10 hopping the fence. He was never there. The doe worked her way back to the fenceline and Scheu executed a perfect 200+ yard shot and dropped her while I stood on top of the bluff and watched. Pretty cool actually.
