He's got to go now. They can't keep him in that locker room. Whether he was truly misled or not doesn't matter.

You're wrong.
I give this trade a 50/50 chance. Rangers won't trade him unless it makes them better. They can't pick up a lot of his salary for the deal. If it happens, great for everyone. Guys request trades all the time. He even did it two years ago. He's a class guy. If he's still here the locker room will be just fine, and probably even better for it. He'll come to play and be a team guy. What makes you think otherwise?

two years ago he asked for a trade early in the offseason, and then hashed it out with ownership and was going to be a starter.
Now, he is asking for a trade because he feels he was lied to, will not be playing much, and its right before the season. He is a class guy, but that doesn't change the fact that he feels really jilted and all trust in the front office is gone.
Has it been that long since you've been part of a team? One guy can split a locker room in a hurry. Especially the leader who is very respected who isn't playing everyday. This could get messy.
Its not a chance worth taking.
Especially since he isn't that good.

I say 90% chance this happens. And I don't think the Rangers expect the trade to make them better. They are expecting to dump some of his salary and grab some Young guys who might make them better in the future. There hasn't been a scenario where I have scene a player better than Young coming to the Rangers. It would have to be a pitcher to make this thing better. He would have been the ultimate utility player and I think the Rangers will miss his bat and versatility. But this will happen.

For this year they might have missed his bat a little. But he is on the back side of his career and they need to get rid of that salary. That and he is a mole that could very well turn out to be cancerous. Maybe not, but might as well cut the thing off anyways.

If he stays, all will be fine in the clubhouse. Mark it.

If he stays, all will be fine in the clubhouse. Mark it. This is something that we probably won't ever truly know. Unless it gets to be of epic proportions like Tex and A-Rod. Anyways, its not worth the risk. If he was truly a professional and a team player you don't go crying to the media when you don't get your way. You say "okay. I disagree with you but you are the boss and I'll prove you wrong on the field." You learn a lot about how good of a leader someone is when their position is taken from them. If you want to see someone who handled it right, check out Jerrod Johnson.

Check out Michael Young the last two times it's happened to him. What he said to the media is understandable to me. Frustration rears its ugly head publicly all the time. This will all blow over come March.
