Here's a couple of out on a limb sports predictions: 1) Michael Young will not finish this season as a Texas Ranger. Pretty obvious they are trying to move him. 2) Josh Hamilton with pneumonia? Really...something is fishy here. LET ME HERE FROM YA!! The acquisition of Napoli has paved the way for Young to be shipped out. |

Possible. I would think they might sign Vlad too if they get rid of Young. I will say this though, I'm not sure if getting rid of Young is a good PR move. He has been the face of the franchise for some time now.

He has been the face of the franchise for some time now. I agree about him being the face of the franchise but I don't think many Ranger fans would care. Am I wrong? I don't know how to describe it but Young to me isn't like Brett favre. He's not like Troy Aikman if we decided to trade him late in his career or even like Madano. Like I said it's hard to describe, I just see him as more of a guy who has just been here a long time and not the absolute face of the Texas Rangers. Am I making any sense? |

Yea I agree with you when you compare them to those players, but those are some big names. I still think he has been the leader almost the whole time he was here and just last year set the record for hits in the franchise.

I concur, don't get me wrong I love Michael Young I would like him to father my next child. I just think instead of Ranger fans throwing a fit and not buying tickets I think it would be more of a standing ovation and we wish him the best wherever he goes. I might be completely wrong. I'm just not attached, I guess, to him as I should be for a guy who is the face of the franchise................or something like that.

Well it's different for everyone though, there may be more people who absolutely love Young and will curse the Rangers if they get rid of him.

Some of those people are the ones who think that Young is a Gold Glover at third base. Like Norm. He may not think he is a GGer but he argued for him a lot last year. I don't really mind if he is gone, although I do like him, but I think we would miss his bat.

I agree with Doyle. He has been the "face" of the franchise but I don't think that many people would care if he was traded.
Part of that might be because the franchise he is the face of has sucked until last year.

Very true. Yea I think everyone is so high on the Rangers right now and a Young trade wouldn't bring that down.

Good point Fischer, I couldn't quite put my finger on why I wouldn't care but the franchise sucking is probably the biggest factor for sure. I can't put my finger on much, especially children now with the court order and all.
