The SEC isn't going to turn down money because a school "did them wrong" 20 years ago.
This isn't a playground gossip circle. Its big business.
I figured you'd already thought of that scenario, you think of everything.

There are several other options other than Clemson. I think FSU will be more likely.
If this does happen it will work out ok for TCU because the worse thing that could happen would be to be stuck in the MWC with only one or none of the Utah schools.
The MWC might look like this:
East: TCU UNM Kansas KSU CSU AFA ISU/Baylor/Hou/UTEP
West: Utah BYU Boise St UNLV SDSU Wyoming Fresno State
But I guarantee Kansas would try like hell to get into the Big 10. If not, then the MWC might be their only choice. It would be a pretty good basketball conference and the football would be improved as well. It would also give 11 baseball schools as opposed to the 6 they have right now. The new MWC would probably be as good as the ACC and Big East, if not better.
The ACC would probably raid the Big East of WVA, Pitt, Louisville, and Cincy or Rutgers. That would give them 14 teams. I think a 16 team league for anyone other than the Pac-10, SEC, or Big 10 would not work.
I still hate that $$ is running all this and tuition rates aren't slowing down any.
About the Pac-10, I have a hard time believing that the liberal, educated elite of Cal, Stanford, USC, and UCLA would let schools like Tech and OSU in to the conference. I'm sure ASU already drives them nuts.

Like he said earlier, its a business, I dont think they are worried about some Texas schools. The guy who broke the story was just on with Norman and it sounds like we will know a lot more by Monday cause the Pact 10 meeting end Sunday.
I wanna know why the Pac 10 and Big 10 and the SEC a little are being aggressive, knowing things are about to change, while the Big 12 just sits there waiting to be dismantled. Why cant the Big 12 go after folk? Is it cause they dont have as much pull or history as the other conferences?

But the Pac10 is trying to create a 'super" network. They can have what the other conferences have.

The Big 12 isn't near as lucrative as the other conferences are. That is why they don't have the leverage to get these teams to join.

They have really small markets too...which is why their TV deal isn't as good as the other big conferences.

I heard an interesting scenario yesterday: Ags, sips, Clemson, and Ga. Tech join the SEC. The SEC has 16 teams and forms 4 divisions: Ags, LSU, sips, and Arkansas Bama, Auburn, Tenn, and Ga. Florida, S. Carolina, Clemson, and Ga. Tech Each team plays the other three in their division and each year you play another division as well, rotating it every 2 years. Then after your 4 non conference games, and your 7 conference games, you take the winners of each division, seed them, and have a "semifinal" for your conference championships, with the winner going to the SEC title game. The rest of the teams would be seeded and play each other i.e. West division #2 will play East Division #2. Think of the TV event those semifinal games would be. It'd be like the NFL playoff games. This would work great except that it is against NCAA regulations. Conference's can only have one conference champioship game, they can not have any sort of playoff format. You also seem to be missing a division.

They won't need to worry about the NCAA when they create their own division.
