Mike-nice undersell on your Hogs. They did a number to CSF. I was really surprised.
Whorns are on borrowed time now. Lucky to get through regionals. A team just slightly better than TCU would have taken Supers. USM gave the game away. Lady Luck won't stick around for very long.

Good call earlier. In the meantime, TU dodged another bullet tonight getting down 0-6. Looks like they are running away with it now.

After last night's game, I just re-read this thread. Stubbs is hilarious here. Typical Stubbs in every page of this thread. Pumps TCU, then says they played hard and TU will be lucky to win another game, then TU is pretty good but Fullerton will win it. All around classic thread.

Both teams played hard. A little more discipline at the plate and the game might have been different. Jughead was snapping his curve pretty good. I think what killed them more than anything was Vern's questionable check swing w/ two outs and Carpenter on first in the top of the first. He had two check swings called for strikes and we didn't get a replay of either. From my couch one was close and the other wasn't. There were several checks in the first two games that were called balls and the TU people were all over the umpires. Guess the 1B ump gave into the whining. That was a complete momentum killer and they couldn't do much until they brought in Dumb Face. They finished with the same amount of hits as TU...the Whorns just know how to be more efficient. Overall, great year for the Frogs...they way I look at it-only 8 other teams got to play longer than they did. Next year may not be as successful (losing seniors at the corners) but 2011 is shaping up to be another great year especially if we can get Purke to enroll. I hate being wrong... |
