I know Jerry won't stand for this. He hates off the field problems. sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3827085INDIANAPOLIS -- Dallas Cowboys linebacker Anthony Spencer was arrested over the weekend after a disturbance outside a downtown Indianapolis nightclub, police said. Spencer Spencer was arrested on preliminary charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct about 3 a.m. Sunday outside the Have a Nice Day Cafe, city police Sgt. Matthew Mount said. Spencer, 24, was later released without bond. A court appearance was scheduled for Jan. 15. Police said Spencer and another man were thrown out of the bar when they refused to leave at closing time, then argued with officers and ignored orders to leave. A bouncer at the nightclub told officers that Spencer had offered to pay for it to stay open past the 3 a.m. closing time set by law and after being told no tried to punch the bouncer, a police report said. Spencer's agent, Roosevelt Barnes, did not immediately return a call Monday from The Associated Press seeking comment. Cowboys spokesman Rich Dalrymple said the team was aware of the arrest but would not comment further until it learned more about what happened. Spencer, 6-foot-3 and 257 pounds, was the Cowboys' first-round draft pick in 2007. He played at Purdue and is from Fort Wayne, Ind. He had 34 tackles and two sacks for the Cowboys this season.

Arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct? Big deal. Happens to the best of us. My football players don't have to be choirboys or boyscouts.
Dang finch, I must have missed your post praising Jerry for releasing that hoodlum Pacman.

Happens to the best of us? You're right, if I had a dollar for every time I got drunk and refused orders by police to leave a strip club, yeah I'd have nothing.
Do you really think Jerry would have released Pacman if he had shown any sort of improvement this year? The only reason he did it was because Pacman sucks, not because of his off the field problems.

Where's the part about the strip club? Your cowboy-hater glasses must have added that part. "Have a Nice Day Cafe" is a strange name for a strip club. I believe the reason given for Pacman's release was his supposed involvment with some trouble at a stripclub. Your reason is pure speculation.

Excuse me, it was not a strip club. I guess it's okay then.
"Your reason is pure speculation."
Based on past precedent.

Not saying it is ok, but it is interesting that you thought the worst just because it involved a Cowboy football player.

Why does it make any better that the place was not a strip club? That part doesn't matter, it is just as wrong to refuse orders to leave a bar as it is to refuse to leave a strip club. Typical cowboys fan trying to draw attention away from what actually matters.

Society tends to regard patrons of stripclubs in a harsher light than patrons of regular bars.

Not really. That is why you threw in the part about it being a strip club. Makes it sound worse.

I wasn't going to bring that up, but I think he would have at least one dollar.

I never refused orders by police to leave, I was trying to leave when he arrested me, I just wasn't with anyone else sober enough to leave. Not to mention I'm not a million dollar athlete who is constantly in the spot light. When you are paid that kind of money you give up a certain amount of your privacy. Sorry, but that's the way it is.
