If a coach thinks the move is what's best for the team, the player should NEVER have any input other than yes sir. Nowhere in any sport is it appropriate for the player to tell the coach what to do. It is not even okay to give unsolicited opinions.

BTW...I haven't weighed in on this yet. He was my favorite ballplayer until now. When you start making these requests, you've lost my respect. Get him out of here. We have plenty of young infield talent on the way. Trade him now for ready-made pitching.

So you're one of the sad saps that Daniels and Wash dupe into thinking Young is the answer at 3rd? I can't believe you guys are buying that crap. It's all just a ploy. They have no intentions of making him the 3rd baseman. It's all just a ploy to turn him into the bad guy and make fans not care that he's leaving. Why can't Davis play 3rd? That's what he played in the minors. Put Hank at 1st and make him earn his 5M. The whole thing reeks of BS and all you guys just stepped in it.

Obviously, the Rangers feel that Andrus is ready and his position is SS. Young needs to be a team player and take one for the team here. Plenty of players better than him have changed positions. I never thought I'd see the day when A-Rod was more of a team player than Mike Young.

exactly.
Too bad we aren't in on all the private meetings like Stubbs must be. Either that, or too bad we aren't all as smart as Stubbs is to see through all of this rhetoric and grasp the truth of the matter.
