What happens if Auburn comes knocking?
Surely he won't go, will he?
I don't know, he has now been at Arkansas longer than he has been at most of his coaching stops. I bet he is getting restless.

Contractually, he signed a noncompete that would prohibit him from leaving Arkansas for another job in the SEC-West.
Having said that, I know contracts can be broken. However, the same source that told me Tubberville was fired yesterday, told me Auburn had approached Petrino but Petrinio declined interest.
Nutt will try to link his name to the job in order to screw OM out of some money, even though Auburn is not stupid enough to hire him. Look for Auburn to make a serious run at Mike Leach.

my sources say they are after Leach as well.
Although, personally, I think Leach might be leaning to Washington. He fits in better there.
Who knows with Leach. I am enjoying the tceh meltdown though. They are going crazy.

I also heard the part about Auburn approaching Petrino and him turning it down.
He can't be that dumb. He would lose any credibility he has if he bolted again. He has to stay at Arkansas for at least a couple of years.

Like I say, Arkansas protected itself pretty well concerning BP. Huge buyout and the noncompete were added to ensure another Nutt situation did not occur.

I think Leach will go to Washington. He had the greatest year ever at Tech and still finished 3rd in the division. TT will always be 3rd in the state and at best 3rd in the division. They may be able to win it every now and then but the road to the MNC is easier in the Pac-10. Plus UW is THE state school.

I'm starting to think Auburn might throw enough his way.

If Auburn wants him, they will get him.
For the record, he will be a huge failure in the SEC.

You SEC people and your high horse.
The SEC is a mediocre conference right now. Even when it was the best, it didn't win the National title every year.

In my opinion they were the best conference the past few years before this one where I think they are a close second to the XII.

When the dust clears I am confident the SEC will have another national champion.

Maybe they will.
But does that mean that in the years 1999,2000,01,02,04, and 05 the SEC wasn't the best conference?
Since 1990 the Big 12 schools have 6 National titles and the SEC schools have 6 Since 1936 the Big 12 schools have 18 and the SEC has 16.
How are you deciding which conference is the best?
