Haha... It is what it is man.. But I can see how the NAACP would get ahold of that like a starving dog... It's not fair how we have to be selective in our wording so we don't offend, but it's okay for them to say what they want..

Ok...why is uppity racist? A legislator in Georgia got in trouble b/c he said the Obama campaign was elitist, uppity. Somehow uppity was turned into a racist term??

I have never, ever heard this and I don't think this congressman should have to apologize. About 1/3 of my co-workers are of the black persuasion and I hear them call each other all kinds of names but not once do I ever recall "upitty" entering their vocabulary. Maybe I'm just out of touch and maybe this congressman is but I have no doubt he meant anything pejorative.

I think this thread needs to be reevaluated. As a free-thinking republican I think Palin would have been a HUGE MISTAKE. She is an idiot.
