What do you think about this? MLB will begin strict enforcement of these rules to help speed up the game.
Pitchers must deliver the pitch within 12 seconds if no runners are on base.
Batters will no longer be able to roam around outside the box in between pitches.
I think the rules are stupid.

I don't think it matters one way or the other. It won't change the game at all.
Baseball games are too long. They can be extremely boring if you aren't at the ball park (and sometimes if you are).

I don't like it. Baseball is what it is. It's long and sometimes boring but that's the way it has always been. One of the things I like about it is that there are no time restrictions. These new rules are gay.

What's slowing the game down is Padilla's 53 MPH curveball.

I don't think its worth worrying about though.
I bet if you went to a game with these rules in place, and didn't know the rules were in place, you wouldn't notice any difference.
So, yeah, they are stupid in that regard. But, since there is no big change, who cares?

These new rules are gay. I love how baseball has maintained the face of its game for 100 years. There's been advances in equipment but it's still the same game it's always been. The 1927 Yankees could compete with the 2007 Red Sox. I doubt the 1927 Canton Bulldogs could even gain a first down on the 2007 Giants.

That is probably true.
But its also what is making baseball lose popularity yearly. Its also why baseball is an inferior game to football.
Football has the built in ability to adapt and change, yet maintain the same basic principles. The rules are still the same, but offenses and defenses can change. It keeps it from going out of style.

But there's not much you can do to baseball without turning into a cartoon circus.

I like that it'll always be the same.

I don't mind if the game is slow, it gives you more time to drink beer, talk about the game and the players, it's really relaxed.

I love baseball. But its not as well conceived as football.
Also, stubbs, I agree. You can't change it. The game wasn't built to change. In fact, when they change it they make it way worse. (i.e. DH)
But the reason that baseball is falling in popularity, and is boring to watch on t.v. is because there is no room for change.
Football, on the other hand, still has the familiarity, the nostalgia, but does have the ability to change, and remain exciting and interesting.

I love football too. It's just a different animal. Anytime you have controversy in a sport someone is going to suggest a change. Bottom line is, if it doesn't alter the face of the sport, nobody's going to care anyway. What are they gonna call it when a guy takes too long to throw a ball, or step up to the plate, Stubbs, did they say? Just curious. Is it going to get a name like a balk?

The last three weeks of Rangers baseball has been exciting and interesting. I hope they can keep it up.
