This road trip will be the litmus test. If they can play .500 ball, we may be in it for the long haul and will be buyers instead of sellers at the trade deadline.

It's gonna be tough to contend over a long period with a rotation of Padilla, Ponson, Gabbard, Feldman and Mathis.
This is a mirage.

It's working for now. While not the best situation, they're getting by with it. Hopefully they can maintain until the other arms get healthy.

Yeah, I can't wait for DL Millwood, McCarthy, Jennings and Mendoza to make it back. They'll prove to be the difference makers.

Surely you're joking. I can take Millwood and McCarthy. Mendoza is a push. Jennings can't pitch on the Poteet JV right now. Send him on his way.

that poteet JV is stacked, though.
The Rangers do this EVERY year. They will fold like a cheap lawn chair long before its over.

Grabbing the wheel and steering this back to topic:
If they want to speed up the game, all they have to do is get the umpires to enforce the strike zone that is on the books and raise the height of the mound to what it was pre-1969. The refusal to call the high strike forces pitchers to throw low thus increasing the batters ability to hit the ball. The strike zone is between the numbers and the knees, not whatever the particular umpire feels is "his" strike zone. Just call the damn pitch like it says in the book.

Yeah, I can't wait for DL Millwood, McCarthy, Jennings and Mendoza to make it back. They'll prove to be the difference makers. You think I was serious about these spares?
