They will never drop to D1-AA, or the Football Championship Subdivision. Too big. They'll win.

They were four time defending conference champions...yeah, you can't win there. They'll win. It'll take a little time and a little defense, but they will win. 7.25 wins a year in those years. 6 wins since. 5.8 wins a year since '01. Directional Louisiana schools and Middle Tennessee State aren't exactly formidable opponents.

what does the competition have to do with anything. No one ever said they were going to be BCS champions. We said they would win there. 7.25 wins a year is dang good for unt. That is better than a whole lot of bigger teams.
You once again have proven the opposite of what you meant to...7.25 wins a year puts them in the Nawlins bowl and as conference champs. Hence, a winner.

He's going to Baylor. SMU is not big time enough for his huge ego. hate to quote myself...but I am hearing this is a done deal. Nutt to Baylor.

Stubbs...you still haven't said one single thing to support your argument that North Texas cannot win. All you have done is give examples of how North Texas has won in the past.
My source was unreachable this afternoon. I don't know of the latest Nutt developments, I am still voting SMU.

You know what...Nutt could be using Baylor to up his price to SMU. He sucks as a football coach; but he is a good great negotiator/manipulator.

I just don't think UNT will ever get enough athletes to build a consistently winning program. I'm not saying that they don't get any but will they get enough to be able to put 22 guys on the field to compete week in and week out against any opponent? They get a lot of the leftovers that the BCS schools, CUSA, and the MWC didn't want for one reason or another, beit not good enough, personality issues, or academic issues.

It's the SunBelt? They don't have to be good enough to beat BCS teams. They just have to beat their level of competition. Hell, Nutt went 4-0 in the SunBelt this year. He'll probably order a ring. The a-hole.

I didn't say they had to beat the BCS teams, I just said compete. And I'm not talking about SMU...Tulsa has handed their asses to them the last two times they played. When Dickey and the AD scheduled the money games it was to 1) bring money to the athletic department and 2) get experience against better opponents and build on it. After 6-7 years, has there been much improvement?

I want no part of Tulsa. They would wax the best TCU and Arkansas could put on the field.
Dodge just got in there this year. Give him a chance.

I'm not knocking Dodge in any way. UNT is the 3rd wheel in an area that could pretty much care less about all three schools. The only TV exposure is when ch. 21 picks up the ESPN game plan games. You can say that Dodge's offense will entise players to come there kind of how Leach's does with Tech but what difference does it make when no one sees it?
And about Tulse...I go back to the key word-competitive.

They will be competitive in the SunBelt. Give him more than one year. He's basically learning on the job. You don't win state titles in Texas without being a great coach.
