I've heard the same about Spurrier on the TCU board. There's a guy on there that went to TCU, did grad school at A&M, and now works for the SEC. He's saying the same thing. I think they need a guy who will be there for a while...not 4 or 5 years at most.
I think Nutt would rather have the SMU job than Baylor. Why go to Waco and get your ass kicked when you can go to SMU, live in the Metroplex, get about the same pay, coach in a very weak conference with a good chance of turning it around and possibly snake your way into a pretty sweet job to end your career? Baylor will be the end of his career.
Also hearing that if BYU's Mendenhall gets a Pac 10 job that Leach would be interested in going back to his alma mater.

What about Pelini taking over at LSU? That guy may not move.

If Miles goes to Michigan; I know Pelini is LSU's first choice. I think he'll either stay there or go to Nebraska.
Nutt would be king in Waco. If he goes to Baylor and wins 6 or 7 (which he could do) a year he is golden. Plus going from SEC to Big 12 is a lateral move.
In DFW he is nowhere on the radar. For Houston Dale it's all about the ego.

Just talked to my guy in Arkansas. That Brian Kelley (Cin) is making a strong move. Also Kevin Wilson (OU) along with Venables (OU).
Butch is still #1 and Pelini is #2. Tommy T. not hearing that anymore.

Todd Dodge is listed on Coaches Hot Seat. Maybe from the racial allegations?

Or maybe from giving up a kajillion billion points. You know he knew he was in for something completely different, but did anyone ever think it would be this bad? At least he has no where to go but up.
Look at the points given up: 79 45 30 66 38 21 W 45 48 74
Still have 3 games to go including Western Kentuck who almost hung 100 on someone earlier this year.

They are scoring points on people, they just need to figure out how to stop someone.

Well, if he would have looked for a DC instead of bringing over one of the dads from Carroll, we may not be in such a bad spot.

I don't think its quite as simple as bringing in a dad from carroll, it was his old DC who was a head coach if I am not mistaken.
Either way, the Defense sucks.

Coach-Doesn't that style of offense put pressure on your defense? If you score quickly, your defense is back out there without getting any rest. If you go three and out...you keep stopping the clock with incompletions and your defense is back out there w/o you burning much clock.
Don't most of those spead offense HC's have defenses that give up a bunch of points?

It doesn't put pressure on the defense if your defense is great. They won't be out there long if they force a three and out.
But yes, your point is very valid. it makes it tougher.

Exactly. Your defense has to be exceptional.
This may get me called a homer, but what Gus Malzahn did at Arkansas and what he is doing at Tulsa right now, is the way to go. He spreads the field, never huddles, throws the crap out of it but still doesn't neglect the run. I laughed when he was named OC at Arkansas last year coming out of the high school ranks; but he has proved me wrong. I think that guy has something.
