People vastly underestimate high school coaching. Brile's high school offense is in the top 20 in the nation and has the number six rusher in the nation (DHS alum Anthony Alridge). Yes its at Houston, but its all relative. He's playing with the same level of talent or less than his opponent. Ask Miami, Alabama, Oregon, South Carolina and those other big time teams that Houston either beat or took to the wire.
good High School coaches, ESPECIALLY in Texas, are very very good. Good enough to compete anywhere.
By the way, any spread team that wins consistently runs the ball very effectively. The spread doesn't mean pass...it means spread the field, make them keep only 5 or 6 in the box and run the ball. Sure you throw a lot, but its a very run friendly offense.

That isn't HIS defense that they ran at Stephenville.
Also, before that game, UH was #45 in total defense. I know a lot of teams that would take that.
That just proves even more that HS coaches can coach.

I hope he does. It gives more credibility to great coaches.

they score points. He doesn't coach the defense. We are talking x's and o's of a coach's system. Dodge only coaches the offense. Which has success.
Leave it to you to say something stupid.

You just couldn't stay away from the bait, could you?
I think Dodge's problem is that he's in an almost 100% no-win situation. Actually, he's in a one-win situation. UNT's 6-6 New Orleans Bowl team was about as good as it could ever get. Its obvious he's a good coach. You can't win MSC's by accident. UNT will never be a winner.

They were four time defending conference champions...yeah, you can't win there.
They'll win. It'll take a little time and a little defense, but they will win.
