It's the 2nd time he's gotten tanked on alcohol, but at least he's not going back to the hard stuff. You'd think with signing day and the super bowl the sports people on the news would have more to talk about.

I don't know.
This is a big story. Its not like you or I having a beer. With an addict, its black and white. With his contract negotiations happening, this could be huge.

This is true, and truth be told, I don't know crap about what goes into those negotiations.
I just know from my standpoint, and working with as many addicts as I have, for him to have been so bad on the hard stuff for so long, this is a small bump in the road, recovery-wise.

Oh yeah, it's just a bump. And not unexpected either.

Question: If you were a waiter or bartender and you new who Josh was, would you serve him his drink if he ordered it? Is he an adult and you must do your job? Or since you know his situation do you refuse his order?

hey, the musers should have this discussion!
No, I wouldn't personally serve him. But I don't think its a moral obligation. He's his own man.

I just thought I would bring that scenario that they discussed to the board. I wouldn't either. But at the same time it is not that person's job to refuse to serve.

You can't trust this guy. Do NOT re-sign him.

Mike, your unfounded hate for him is skewing your judgement.
I can't understand your disdain for him.

I would too. He's a man. He doesn't need someone else looking out for him. With his wife, family, friends, organization, fans and all the kids looking up to him, he has enough people to worry about. I would let him have his outlet for the night and not criticize him.
Plus, have you ever denied an alcoholic a drink? It's not fun.

I can understand where y'all are coming from. But I am not having that on my conscience. Its more for me than him. I realize if I refuse to serve him that he'll go somewhere else. But at least I am not the one that is enabling him to fall off the wagon again.
Like I said, its more selfish of me than looking out for him.

Interesting that the Rangers were not represented at the press conference and that Josh refused to take questions. There is more to this story than just having a few beers.

He is an addict. Of course there is.
That is the reason for refraining from serving him a few beers in the first place.

Mike, your unfounded hate for him is skewing your judgement. I can't understand your disdain for him. I just have a problem with people who use religion for their personal gain. Particularly, hypocritical people. Josh Hamilton is no better than Jimmy Swaggart. He's as phony as Nashville country music.
