I know we hit on this in another thread, but what do you think we'll do.
I read that RW says his top priority is a closer. I thought we had one working in CJ. Then, first base, which is understandable if you want to send Laird packing in a package deal for prospect pitching, or outfield. If that were the case Salty would be our starter behind the plate, which seems reasonable to me. Blalock will be back at 3rd next season. Tori Hunter will be a Ranger, no brainer. If we can't get that deal done, JD is worse than we ever imagined. 5 years 75 mil. Do it.
Maybe we can brind in an Adam Dunn to play first. Not sure about the rest of the FA market in that spot. As for DH, I say we get rid of this platoon, and sign Sammy for one more year at DH. His production is good, and he's good in the clubhouse. I hate Barry Bonds. Could be good for the lineup though? I don't know. Hate to even think about that.
Still need pitching. Millwood and Padilla are here to stay. McCarthy and Gabbard are good 3-4 guys. Then Volquez again at 5? He's shown he may be in the hunt.

OUT OUT OUT on Adam Dunn...he went to Texas. Would love to have the left-handed bat but can't look past that. Next.
CJ is not ready to handle the position yet. His arm has gotten weak as the season winds down. I don't think he's quite there. I know Gagne has sucked with the BoSox but why not try to go get him again. Sign him for a 2 year deal. By then Ceej will be ready. Sammy has been productive despite his average and I like how he's carried himself this year (real classy) but I'm just scared to rely on a guy that old.

MY got his 200th today. That guy is unbelievable. 5 straight years, and counting.
Glad he's locked up for a while.

It is funny to look back at stuff we thought we knew. We are all guilty of it. The most damning thing you wrote was that if Tori Hunter wasn't signed JD is "worse than we ever imagined."

He stumbled out of the gate, but he's more than made up for it now, as we all know. Best GM in baseball, and maybe all of pro sports. We just need to get over this last hurdle.

tap the brakes there.
He's not the best in baseball yet. He's not in the top 5 in all of sports. Probably not the top 10.
He might get there. But he sure isn't there yet.

Dang Josh. That sucks. May work out for the Rangers though if they want to keep him. His price just went down.

are you really shocked?
I just hope the Rangers (IF they ever win a title again) don't feel the need of setting up that farce of a ginger ale celebration for Hamilton. Obviously, Josh feels he can handle his alcohol.
