In the NFL, you generally have to throw it once you get inside the 10 yard line. Its too hard to score running the ball on a consistent basis.
The play call was fine, the qb has to take care of the ball.

I'm not blaming the result on the play call. Romo's fault. I just would have rather seen Run-Run-Pass. But I don't like questioning play calling cause its easy to do after the results. So don't read to much into these thoughts.

I see.
But what I mean is, its typically going to be pass run pass. Its just too hard to run it in on short yardage situations.
Of course there are times when you do (earlier in the game) score on a run, but its much harder to do. Especially if you just go run, run, run.

I'd like to know what defensive coach Fischer thinks of this: It seems like all game Romo was taking the play clock down to the that tenth of a second. This has to give the Jets D a big advantage knowing when the O is going to snap the ball. I just can't figure out why Romo was letting the clock go down almost every play. The delay of games are a different issue that are maddening.

As long as Romo is our starting QB, we'll be one and done at the very best. He just can't perform under pressure, in big games. He bends over like a drunk sorority girl at a frat party.

He looks like his eyes are too close together. Is his helmet too tight?

I hate how they use the entire play clock. Yes it's an advantage for the defense.

The play clock use is pathetic. Should be an easy fix. If you want to run the clock down, run it down. Snap the ball at 2 secs one play, 3 secs the next, 1 sec the next, 4 secs the next. Not at zero everytime. The defense was pretty good, yes. So was the young, inexperienced o-line. It's all on the QB. He is an absolute moron.

Back to the O-line. They gave Homo plenty of time in the pocket. He had all day on some of those pass plays. He scrambles out when he doesn't need to. He stares down his targets. He grossly under throwed Austin on that touchdown jump ball. That was a pick, until Austin ripped it out on the ground. The funny thing was, I was feeling good about this thing all the way up to the 4th quarter. Then they were in full meltdown mode.
I'll give it to the Jets for that first drive of the 4th where they took it right down the field and scored in 3 minutes. After that, it was...
Big pass play to Witten. Romo fumble. We get it back on a great play by McCray on the Sack/Fumble. Romo delay of game, false start, Romo under throw to double coverage incomplete, punt block, TD Jets.
Ok, we still got this with only 5 mins to play. Good play by Phillips for 12 yards, good run by Felix for 8 yards, Felix stuffed, Choice stuffed, punt touchback. 2 minute warning. Defense holds and gets the ball back with 1 minute left. All we need is to run it down their throats for one first down and go to overtime. Or try to get in field goal range, but don't do anything stupid. Oh, hell, why not let Romo grossly underthrow Dez in double coverage again. Only this time to hit Revis in the numbers standing all alone waiting for it. NYJ field goal. Game over.
Pathetic.

I was talking about the whole game. But, yes, that would be good for running down the clock.

This schedule the cowboys have isn't looking near as favorable as it did at the start of the year. Its still nice to play the NFC West but the AFC East is even better now that Buffalo looks legit. Also, had McGee not been a winner in the last game of the year last season, we would be playing Minnesota and Carolina instead of Detroit and Tampa Bay.
