If we can get that consistency out of him 4 out of 5 starts, we'll have 3 solid starters. I still see this team picking up another rotation guy, and a bullpen arm before the deadline. It may get really interesting in the next 16 days.

Um...Matty Harrison has been pretty damn good and I'll never forget Colby's performance in Game 6 of the ALCS last year.

And Ogando has had only around 3 bad starts the entire year. HE may fizzle out but we have to give credit where credit is due. He has been solid.

They have 3.5 solid starters right now with Holland coming around.

If you get that kind of consistency out of him he would be the greatest pitcher of all time by a mile. complete game shutouts 4 out of every 5 outings?

No, just consistent solid pitching. 2-3 ER's per 6-7 innings with more K's than BB's.
I was counting CJ and Ogando, plus Holland as your third. I can't give Colby the benefit of a doubt based on last year's postseason. He needs to get his head right and return to that form.

Why are you discounting the work of Mattie Harrison? The dude has been outstanding all year.

Discounting the work of Mattie Harrison because he just looks goofy.

Cause he looks goofy too. All pitchers are on fire right now. Even though its been against terrible offensive teams, they still have to go out there and perform. A 4 game lead over LAA going into a 3 game series. I don't see them getting another sweep but if they somehow pulled it off it would be a solid 7 game lead. I'll consider it a success if we do anything but get swept. Maybe not a success with just one win but I'd be content with it. Haren and Weaver in games 2 and 3. Will be a tough series.

In other news: A couple of weeks ago when the Rangers had a bad loss against Florida or Houston Stubbs emphatically stated on facebook the Rangers need to blow this team up and rebuild. Just passing along the knee-jerk information.

Here is the exact quote:
"Rangers need to blow it up. Start over. The Series was a tease. It'll take 5 years to get back."
