From footballscoop.com:
Dallas Cowboys: We are hearing that Jerry Jones is talking with New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton about becoming the GM with of the Cowboys' organization. Our source tells us that the Saints will promote defensive coordinator Gregg Williams to head coach if Jones is able to lure Payton to Dallas.
I don't think this is going to happen. But if it did, finch, would you become a Cowboys fan again?

uh oh... the saints have issued a statement denying any truth to the rumor. That usually means there is a lot of truth to the rumor. If it was completely bogus they'd have just dismissed it.
I bet there is at least a little truth to it and that there was some reciprocation on Payton's end. But I still don't think it will happen.

I give this a 25% chance of happening. If it does, the jerry-haters will just find something else to bitch about.

But if it did, finch, would you become a Cowboys fan again? I don't know that I would change my tune over night, but it would definitely be a step in the right direction. That said I won't believe any of this until I see the press conference.

I don't think its going to happen. I do think that there was interest on both sides, though.

7% is likely too high...but I don't think that is due to Jerry not changing. I think it has more to do with Payton wanting to continue to coach.

They need some type of backbone in the higher ranks.

Troy said in a recent interview that he has thought about getting into the front office of a team in the future. He said not the Cowboys though cause Jerry won't give that up.

cowboys wont ever get anywhere because jerry will never EVER give up control of that team. he's like a douchebag manager of mine that micromanaged every single detail of my day and never trusted me to get the job done, even though my product spoke volumes of how capable i was.

But, he won 3 Super Bowls. And has the most valuable and profitable sports franchise in the world. He must be doing something right...

When it comes to selling and marketing his brand, there may not be anyone better than Jerry. When it comes to building a winning football team...I'll just let the last 14 years do the talking.

The 3 SBs were all Jimmy. I have done my fair share of backing Jerry in the past and if someone wanted to they could find it. I have since then moved away from that stance a little. I backed Jerry because he had the rings. But as each year passes and each year bring mistakes, I find myself drifting away from him. This is especially after stuff I have heard on how the 3 SBs were basically all Jimmy.... well the first 2 for sure. The 3rd is up for debate.
