The sad thing is, this year's tcu team may be their best yet.
But they play a god awful schedule and its going to end up costing them.

True and true. I'll take this year's team over last year's but the schedule came back to bite them in the ass. Their saving grace has actually been Baylor and SDSU. SMU and BYU have laid some serious eggs, but SMU still has a chance to win their division and play for the CUSA championship. Oregon State went to crap after James Rogers went down.
I tend to think that the OB will take TCU over Stanford, escpecially if FSU or Miami can somehow win the ACC. Even still, I think TCU would travel to Miami better than Stanford and may make a better TV matchup.
Here's the kicker: For the games of January 2011 through 2014, the first year the Rose Bowl loses a team to the NCG and a team from the non-AQ group is an automatic qualifier, that non-AQ team will play in the Rose Bowl.
What if Auburn loses and BSU or TCU gets into the NCG? Things then get messy.
This would be the first year they lose a team to the NCG between those years. However, the non-AQ AQ team would be lost as well. From there, the rules get interesting as they state that there can only be one non-AQ AQ team per year. However, this situation would posit a loophole that cannot be clearly defined. The BCS never dreamed of this scenario or else they wouldn't have left the verbiage as is. What they probably wish they could go back and add to that stipulation is "unless that non-AQ team is in the NCG. In which case, the RB may choose an at-large AQ team." I'm no legal scholar and I don't think the odds would be in our favor but I do think that it is a cause worth examining and could probably create some legal consternation. I doubt that TCU themselves would take up the cause but there is enough legislative opposition to the BCS that could take up the cause for us. Being that it IS the Rose Bowl and Standford would be the only other team seemingly in the running it would be an uphill battle but it is something to think about.

Stanford loses their next two. A&M beats Neb. OSU beats OU and Neb in the championship game. SEC and B10, get two. BXII, Pac 10, BE, and ACC get one. TCU/BSU gets one. Who gets the other? TCU/BSU.

Are the ESPN announcers paid by Boise St during their games? I've never heard such a lick-fest. Dude! LOL Miss beat this Fresno team!
This Rod Gilmore guy is unreal in his bias. They might as well hire the ghost of Billy Mays to be the sideline reporter. Damn, what an infomercial!

I'm glad people are catching on to this. It's really embarrassing and it's one of the reasons why I hate ESPN. When ESPN was pimping us out in the first half of this decade they never once pleaded our case for a BCS bowl, much less a NCG. That's why we left CUSA. So what if we don't play on ESPN? We got beat out in the ratings by Everybody Loves Raymond reruns on Tuesday nights anyway.
Gilmore is the worst...last week he was going on and on about how impressive Boise was against Idaho. This week it was an impressive win over Fresno State who has one win over a team with at least a .500 record. Boise takes out Moore near the end of the 3rd and runs a reverse flea flicker down inside the FSU redzone. They then bring Moore back in to throw a TD pass. Just sorry. I hate when they pull that crap.
Answer me this, if BSU blows out Nevada is everyone going to say Nevada was overrated like they said about Utah?
Two weeks ago Craig James had TCU 3rd in his AP ballot. Last week he moved them to 4. This week they're 5. Idle put up quite a fight against the Frogs...
Here's a good stat for the top 4. Number of opponents faced that are in the top 40 in offense and defense:
Auburn 10 TCU 6 Oregon 4 Boise 4

That is a very, very misleading stat.
Ever think that they might be in the top 40 in o or d because they play the same other crappy schools that TCU does?

Its harder to have a top 40 offense when you play good teams.
Its a lot easier to have a top 40 offense when you play the likes of Wyoming, Utah, San Diego State, and BYU.

By the way, if Auburn has played 10 of 11 games against those teams that kinda proves what the SEC is this year.

Great showing last week by SDSU against that joke of a Utah team. Oh wait, in the MOUNTAIN you throw out the record books!

Yes he did. Said that SD win would lend credence to TCU's narrow victory against the high and mighty AZTECS!
