What I was commenting on is that tcu will not impress recruits with a half full stadium that is nice and has new suites. Their every day facilities, which are brand new, pale in comparison to every big 12 teams facilities. I agree, Floyd Casey is not a selling point. But Baylor can use their facilities to recruit. Tcu cannot in a head to head battle with a big 12 school The stadium won't be half full. There hasn't been a game with only 22000 in over 6 years...and that was against a 1-AA team. They can impress people with their Camp Cupcake indoor facility. We have one too. In fact, it's a little bigger. Maybe theirs has a few more bells and whistles. Tech doesn't have one. Neither does OSU. The only thing these schools have a significant advantage over TCU is that they play in a better conference.

OSU is building one. They already have the greatest facilities in college football (yes, mike even better than Arkansas)
I'm not just talking indoor facilities. I'm talking locker rooms, weight rooms, training rooms, meeting faclilites, tutoring centers, players lounges, dorms, cafeterias, etc.
TCU would be dead last in the Big 12 in facilities. And in fan support they'd be very similar to Baylor.

This really a pointless discussion because TCU will never be in the Big Whatever, or any future conference that involves the bigger Texas schools. Their alumni base is too small, they don't garner any national interest, and they have very few if any t-shirt fans. In Texas football tu will almost always be king, A&M will almost always be second, and the rest will be fighting for the left overs, and that's the way it will be for the foreseeable future.

Not so fast, my friend.
I doubt it happens, but if the Ags can win out (go 10-3) there could be a very real and relatively long term (5-10 yrs) shift in the balance of power in this state. See the mid 80's through the late 90's. I understand tu has more money, and Deloss Dodds has turned them into an almost professional sports franchise. But the fact of the matter is that these things are very cyclical and it could happen.
I pray that it does.

Best point I've read in this entire ongoing annual argument. I'm talking since 2006, or whenever all this started on the board.

It's like that article said this summer, tu is the hot rich girl and A&M is the slightly less attractive but still good looking younger sister who brings a lot less drama to the table.

I never said Ark had any greater facilities than any other major college program. I also think TCU would rate above 3 or 4 current Big 12 programs in regard to facilities.

The reason I mentioned you and Arkansas was because Arkansas is widely regarded as having some very very nice facilities. They are probably the 2nd best. You're right. I wasn't considering Iowa State, KSU, and Kansas. I have no idea if TCU has nicer facilities than them. I was wrong about that, I was just considering the south. The point remains the same, though... TCU has very average facilities for this part of the country. They are on par with SMU, and UNT. Coppell HS, and SLC HS. Seriously.

Obviously, we should be putting our money toward players instead of facilities, on order to keep up with Auburn.

Being # 2 in Texas is a lot different than being #2 in Oklahoma. Besides, A&m is not locked into that position.

yeah, I agree.
I never mentioned that OSU would over take OU. I just said that TCU couldn't compete with them.
