Yea and we kicked their ass! Bitches.
I did he a shot from the opposite 3-point line at the end of the first half of the LD game. I'd like to think I created some momentum going into the locker room.

I didn't approve of my vulgar name calling. I live here now. I need to embrace the Eagles.

ummm DHS JV basketball MVP? DHS Varsity basketball Hustlin' Bronco of the Year?..... I had some great moments playing JV basketball, far and away the most fun I had playing any sport in high school. Our coach couldn't care less about basketball so one of my good friends on the team and I pretty much ran the team. I have a few stories but they are way too long to tell and probably wouldn't make any sense to any one but me and him. Good times. Another one I just thought of. My junior year of high school I was running track. For some reason my track coach thought it would be a good idea to have me run the 200m (not my best race). So I get to my lane (4) and start getting in to the blocks. I look to my left and see three black guys, look to my right and see four blacks guys. Great, I'm the only white boy in this race. Knowing that everyone watching the race was thinking the same thing, I figured I had to find a way to get my self pumped up. The only thing I could think of to do was to start singing this song in my head. Needless to say it worked and I ran my fastest 200m ever and ended up getting second in the heat. Found myself in the same situation in the finals and tried it again but it just didn't have the magic this time. Ended up getting fifth overall, which I think was still respectable under the circumstances. A small moment I know, but it was a big moment for me.

I don't have much offer on this one.
I was shitty at basketball, so no story there, ever...
I did have a few decent performances on the gridiron and track.
1. Ripped a 68 yard net punt while playing against Winnsboro my senior year, setting the school record for the longest ever.
2. Had an 89 Yard kickoff return on a reverse for TD against Tatum senior year, against the fastest black guys you've ever met in your life.
3. Ran a 51.34 Quarter mile and didn't make the regional meet
4. Cleared 6' 7" in highjump and didn't make the regional meet.
5. Earned a Punting scholarship from La Tech and lost it in the same schoolyear.
6. Coached the 5 year old league Mini-Tigerettes to a 5-0 season in basketball last season.

KL and DB,
Both of you have seen the Astros win big playoff series, the Rockets win titles, the Texans defeat the Cowboys in their inaugural game, UH has had numerous big wins and upsets, DB's whorns have won National Titles and Conference championship games, etc, etc.
Y'all don't have any great memories of those?

I like baseball about as much as fish enjoy bicycles. I've never kept up with the game professionally or collegiately, so I've never had great memories of the game besides when I played. For me, playing it is a ton more fun that sleeping through a game on TV or in person. I loved watching Clyde, Olajuwon, Cassell, Horry, Thorpe and Maxwell during those two bad ass years in Houston. Everyone called them the Twoston Rockets for back to back championships. I even had the Hakeem LA Gear shoes, until I found out just how bad they sucked ass. The Horns have always been fun for me to watch. I remember the time I went to the Holiday Bowl game at Qualcom Stadium to watch Texas and Washington duke it out in 2001. That game was probably the best I've ever witnessed. We loaded up all of the Marines we could find from Texas, bought tickets, and went to the game. I'll never forget Texas putting up 27 points in the 4th Q to win 47-43. My favorite thing to watch growing up was Boxing. I can't tell you how many times I heard my granny bitch at my PePaw for ordering fights on HBO. We watched every bit of "leathersmelling" (what my pepaw called it) that we could when we were together. Those were great times. The man was more of a father to me than he'll ever know. The old man used to be a bare knuckle prize fighter in his younger years. I've heard stories through my uncles, that nobody, and I mean nobody, wanted a piece of my Pepaw. They've told me stories about him ripping earrings out, snapping pool sticks on people's heads, and out shooting people in pool with a broom handle for hundreds of dollars. He's the one who taught me my hand game. He always told me that the best way to stop a bully is to just walk right up and smash him in his jawbone. He also told me that if I ever see a big guy whoopin on a little man to step in and do the right thing. Well, that's happened a few times and the outcome hasn't always gone as expected, but it's established a few new lines of respect for me growing up.
