He has been hamstrung by having an idiot for an owner.

Still. 6 winning seasons in 17 years as head coach. Maybe the owner is an idiot cause he hasn't fired him yet. Any other coach would have been gone along time ago. Maybe the Texans should hire Wade cause he was hamstrung by an idiot owner too.

I sure dont want jeff back in houston. i'd like to see gruden come here. i think kubiak is an awesome offensive mind. he could take over o-cord and i'd be fine with that. he's done a helluva job with offense. he just cant get bigger picture momentum. frank bush needs to be gone. plain and simple..and all of his damn def coaches. and special teams coaches. and whoever cut that ass hat dunta robinson should kick themselves. yes he was a prick, but that fool could play. better than kareem jacksons ass getting burned, gassed, passed all mother loving season.

I don't think you can, in any capacity, compare Tennessee's owner and Jerry Jones.
You're right, though. I didn't realize they had been that bad.

A lot of his teams have been bad because, well, they were bad teams. Like Fisch says you can't win the Kentucky Derby on a jackass. It also doesn't help that he is in one of the toughest divisions in the NFL. Give this guy a team as talented as the Texans and he can probably win 10-12 games a year. Grueden would be a good hire as well, but he seems to like his job in the booth. He's also the best ESPN has had up there in a long time, I would definitely hate to see him leave.

agree, Finch.
I watch MNF a lot more often now than I used to. I kinda hope he stays there.

agree, Finch. I watch MNF a lot more often now than I used to. I kinda hope he stays there. Prior to last year I might watch two or three MNF games a year. This year I don't think I've missed more than 2-3.

I just wish Gruden wasn't so positive about everything. Every player that makes a good play is the best player he has ever seen.

When Fisher had his winning seasons he had players in their prime: McNair, George, Mason, Kearse, B Matthews, Wycheck, Bulluck, and other solid defensive players. I'm just saying that coaches are fire every year for bad seasons regardless of how much talent people think they have on their team. When he had those 6 winning seasons he had players. I'm not saying he isn't good but where is the proof that he is?

I'm not saying he isn't good but where is the proof that he is? So to prove your point that Jeff Fisher is over rated you point out that when he had good players he had winning seasons, but then ask for proof that he is a good coach? Coaches are usually fired because their boss thinks they aren't doing enough with the players they have, or just think it's time for a change. I'm guessing Fisher hasn't been fired because people believe he is getting the most out of the players he has, which I would agree with. To be honest I'm really not sure what you are trying to argue.

You said he does more with less than anyone else. I'm saying when he has "less" he hasn't done anything. The only time he had winning seasons he had the players. I was just countering that statement because I don't see the "more with less." If he could do more with less then he would do something with a team that has arguably the best running back in the league. He obviously can't keep VY in check (although I dont know who would be able to). I just want the proof that he is a good coach, cause his record doesn't show it and I haven't heard it yet. He has been apart of that team for 17 years, he has to have input on drafting and signing FAs. So are you saying the lack of talent on his team has nothing to do with him?

Craig, you are being a little bit misleading.
He only has 6 losing seasons and his overall record is 141-114. That is pretty danged good as far as NFL standards go.
