Wow. Boy was I wrong... About tonight.
They've still been bad and will miss the playoffs yet again.
Helluva game tonight

In fact, the end of that game is a prime example of why they aren't very good. They're close, but just can't deliver when it matters

Ouch, that has to hurt.
Man this team can find some epic ways to lose.

They have had so many close losses this year. Just can't finish.

That has been their problem for 3 years now. I don't know if it's coaching, players, or something else, but it's hard for me to watch and I don't even care.

This game was intriguing for me. In my fantasy league, I was in 3rd place, in a three way tie at 7-6 on the season. I led the others by over 150 points so as long as I won, I was in. They both won on Sunday. So, I had to win or I wouldn't make the playoffs.
Now, after Sunday, I was down by 8. I had Johnson going. But he had Brandshaw from NYG. Well, Bradshaw ended up scoring 15 points. That put me behind by 23 points. I decided to watch Mad Men instead of the game. After my second MM episode, I take a look at the points on my phone, and I'm only down by 9 with half a quarter to play. I figured it was over.
Then Houston starts that last drive. I ended up getting 10 more points out of Johnson on that one drive with the final TD catch giving me a 1 point win. That was awesome.

part of me wants to yell piss off to yall............. the other part just wants to cry in the same corner i've been crying in since we lost last night.
i was listening to sports radio this morning and they were talking about all the freaky shit that has happened in our losses. i.e, the interception off of andre's knee, the glover quin bat into whats his faces hands, the pick 6 in OT, etc... they said that losing in all 3 of those situations plus jacksonville winning off of a hail mary all require the same odds to win the lottery lol.
It takes half the game for dumbass frank bush to figure out how to coach. schaub, while he plays well, needs to figure out how to be better faster during the games. Its frustrating as hell as a fan. Kubes needs to go. now. like yesterday. who the hell goes for a FG on a 4th and 2? no balls to the wall coaching. there's not a damn reason we shouldnt have converted ANY of those 4th downs with the leading rusher in a ketchup uniform last night.

I knew you'd be upset.
But the reason you have lost those games in those weird ways is that the team doesn't know how to win. Like I said last time, good teams win those games. You make your own luck. The Texans just don't know how to win. That is what makes them a bad team.
As for kicking the field goal, I have no problem with it. There is no bigger momentum swing in football than a 4th down stop. If the Ravens would have made a stop there, there would have been a huge shift in momentum and the game probably plays out a whole lot different. Of course, I probably still would have gone for it, but I don't have a problem with kicking it.
I think you will get your wish with Kubiak. I don't think there is any way they are going to keep him. Who would you want them to hire? I think they should make a run at Gruden. He sure was excited last night.

I have a problem with kicking field goals when Kubiak does it EVERY frigging game! Sometimes more than once. Most times its at least 3 times. The dude never gets upset, never gets in guys faces, his sideline attitude reflects absolutely no passion for the game. We've kept his butt around for 4 years. 4 losing seasons later...he must have some sort of blackmail on ole bob mcnair to get to keep his job for so long. I need a job like that, where I can suck ass and still get paid bank.
either way, no matter who we go after, there's no guarantee that they're going to turn this into a winning team. we have the talent. one of the hottest QBs in the league, leading rusher and wide receiver! i mean, there is NO damn reason we should NOT be winning.
i'm ready to pull my hair out. I hope and pray andre doesnt leave the team but that is a good man and an amazing player. he deserves something more.

There is something on the intranet about Cowher going there.

I would call Jeff Fisher and see if he is interested in coming back to Houston. He and Adams haven't exactly been buddies the last few years.

I would, too, finch.
I am a huge Gruden fan, though. I think he would be a great hire for anyone.

Is Jeff Fischer really that great though? Yes, he has been the longest tenured coach in the league present-day, but other than a couple years its all mediocre to crap.
