I've learned to not put my confidence in Texas. They cant cover their spreads or they lose. if you noticed, i didnt choose them last week. they got the nod week 3 because it was only a 3 pt spread against tech. seriously, what "superior" school cant cover a 30.5 pt spread against rice??

I think there is a little bit of strategy that goes in to picking games, but what works for one person doesn't necessarily work for someone else. I guess maybe call it more of a system of picking games rather than a strategy.

I've said this 1000 times and I'll say it again...they want absolutely nothing to do with the Big 12. Why not? I think some of the BXII members want nothing to do with TCU even more than TCU 'want's nothing to do with the BXII.' Texas, A&M, and OU could care less. Do you think Baylor, Tech, and OSU want TCU in the same conference when they already compete for the same athletes. They were also trying to win by blowout last night. Going for it on 4th down at the 40 or so, then again in field goal range early on proved that. Either way, that game was a lot closer than any voters would have thought, and they didn't gain the style points they were looking for. Dalton played terribly. His arm was exposed to the nation. Where do I start with these ridiculous comments. Going for it on 4th down twice had nothing to do with wanting to win by a blowout. It was a signal to the team from Saint Patterson that 1) 3 points aint gonna get the job done tonight, 2) SMU came ready to play, and 3) you guys didn't. Besides, the first time they went for it they were on the cusp of Evans's FG range and a punt inside the 40 might net you only 20 yards. SGP had enough faith in the D to stop them if they didn't get it. AFA did the same thing in the first quarter against Wyo. Do you think AFA was trying to win by a blowout? Style points? You fell for it. You got suckered into Rod Gilmore's stupid comments about style points. They won by 17 when favored by 17.5 (thank you Ross Evans for the missed PAT) on the road. They scored 41 points on the road in a rivalry game. Sure, it wasn't pretty but didn't they do about what was expected? Or did everyone expect them to win 17.5-0 or 20.5-3? People don't realize but SMU is a pretty good football team. They could very will end up an 8-4 team. There are only two more games on their schedule that are iffy: UH and ECU. With UH being on life support behind center they could be 9-3 come Dec. 1 with the CUSA championship game left to play. I hate to say it but there's aren't the Ponies I'm used to. Style points is one of the things that drives me absolutely nuts about CFB. TCU goes on the road and takes care of business but drops a spot b/c of "lack of style points." Meanwhile, Nebraska stinks it up and moves up a spot? I really liked NU before the season but they're OOC schedule is absolutely embarrassing and their performance against South Dakota State was horrible. Nebraska has a completely weak schedule this year and I don't think they will merit playing for a MNC this year. Fla, Auburn, LSU, Stanford, and Utah are all more deserving of a higher ranking. While we're on the BXII, what has OU done to merit moving up a spot. They've had three subpar games that they easily could have lost against inferior opponents. And why is Missouri even ranked? They've beaten Illinois, McNeese State, SDSU (BARELY), and Miami (Oh). They have CU this week so I'm sure everyone will be going crazy about their 5-0 record going into a matchup at Kyle Field. Oregon apparently put up enough style points to voters who never saw the game. I saw 3 quarters of this before falling asleep. ASU did everything they could to lose the game. At one point it was 24-14 with 4 minutes left in the 2nd. 10 minutes later it's 28-24 with a minute left in the half and Oregon with the ball again. ASU's QB made some absolutely stupid throws in the redzone that swayed the game by at least 21 points. ASU racked up 597 yards of total offense and committed 7 turnovers...but Oregon had enough style points in their 11 point win to pass TCU. I think a more disciplined Stanford team might end up destroying the Ducks. Back to TCU...they played absolutely horrible. Probably the worst game in at least two years. Receivers were wide open and dropped passes. Receivers were wide open and Dalton would throw the ball two feet behind them. They shot themselves in the foot all night long and were very fortunate to win that game. To SMU's credit, they took advantage of almost every opportunity they were given. I was very impressed with how they played but TCU should have won by 30 points. It also didn't help that their best RB was knocked out with a concussion after a helmet-to-helmet hit. About Dalton, his arm wasn't exposed...his head was. His arm is fine. In fact, he threw a ball to Jimmy Young about two feet behind him that was the hardest throw I've ever seen him make. Nothing is wrong with his arm...it's what's between the ears that's a concern. He made some absolutely horrible decisions that ended up costing them. Instead of hitting a wide open TE for a sure first down he throws 15 yards beyond the TE to a WR who was double-covered. The result: INT. Been a long week...glad I was finally able to get all that off my chest.

KL...those were some ballsy calls. Usually those are picks of desperation from those holding up the rear at the end of the season. It's like a coach who goes for it on their own 40 in the first quarter. He'll either be an idiot or a genius and either way there's not much difference between the two. I applaud your courage. It paid off. In the words of Han Solo "don't get cocky kid."
Well done.
