What the Big 12 would have over the MWC is a name. The Big 12 is respected, and contrary to what you may think, the MWC is pretty much a step child. Also, lots of talk that the Big 11 is not going after mizzou. Even if they did, go get another MWC spare, ala CSU, or even Tulsa or someone like that. The Big XII's name at this point is about as good as Tiger Woods'. Everyone knows it's dead. Like I said, the remaining 5 need the MWC more than the MWC needs them. Some outlets are reporting that CU will officially accept the P10's offer today or tomorrow. If Mizzou doesn't get into the Big 11+NU then I think them, KSU, and KU are extended invites to the MWC. That would give 12 teams and BSU would be shut out. Now, SDSU has been talking about doing away with football for a couple years, if they do, then BSU would slide right in. I don't think a 14-team conference would work well with these schools. Fischer, the MWC is a step-child perception-wise but since 2005 the conference is 16-15 against the Pac-10 (with SDSU going 0-4) and, I think, 10-12 against the Big XII...hardly step-children on the field. Rumblings around the Pac-10 are that they will lobby to get 2 auto-BCS births and not even have a conference championship game. I think this would be the death of half of D-1.

Perception is all that matters to tv audiences. No one watches mwc sports. People watch big 12 sports. Baylor is far more important in this thing than Kansas state. Baylor is in Texas.

No one flips on the tv and is excited to see a Baylor matchup. If you miss the first quarter and turn it on it's already 35-0. Never said anyone is excited to see a MWC matchup.

WTF just happened? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!!!! I mean I get it but why couldn't the Big 12 just invite someone else to replace Nebraska....which I know is hard to do with location and TV audience but come on couldn't they do something. Maybe invite 2 or 3 teams to replace them.

Ags to the Pac-10 or to the SEC? I've heard both and I'm thinking there is no way they don't follow texas and oklahoma. Anyone think any different I mean it is the SEC though?

They'll stay together but I bet if they had their choice they'd go to the SEC. Damn politics.
Don't think I'm crazy but TCU will cross the minds of the SEC. They'd love more than anything to get into Texas. The Hogs might be TCU's best friend right now. I'm not saying there's even a 10% chance of it happening but it will be something they'll consider.
