I dont think people realize how bad the problem is there and why people in Arizona agree with it.

Agreed. Sad how the media can and will exploit people's ignorance. The law doesn't create profiling and prejudices. If any of that exists it exists exclusively within the soul of the offending representative of law enforcement. How many of these people do you think actually know that it is only the enforcement of an existing federal law.
The first order of business should be to secure the border. However, this administration and every administration for 5 decades has ignored the issue and the states are forces to deliberate laws such as these. There is very little the state can do in the way of border security so this is their only option.

This guy has slowly been making a case for me to bump him from that perch too. Give me Andrus or Murphy. Guys who quietly go about their business.

Murph needs to mix in a few more base hits every now and then before even sets out on the base of that mountain.
Vlad and CJ are my current 2A and 2B.

sports.espn.go.com/espn/commentary/news/story?page=brewer/100505straight from the horses mouth on why the bill was started. hits the nail on the head with what framp said above. the problem with illegals and the drug and human smuggling is out of control. something had to be done so that they could call those folks out and get rid of them!

The Founding Fathers rightly did not leave a dangling modifier after "the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated." And to everybody about to argue illegals do not have rights, what exactly is the distinguishing characteristic between an undocumented alien and a someone who is here legally? Oh I don't know, maybe that they pay income taxes like all the rest of us. Or that they take the time to learn the English language rather than expect everyone else to learn Spanish. Also if they commit a crime like killing someone in cold blood or raping a young girl they can't just slip across the border never to be heard from again.

Haha, I thought you would like that.
Here is the email I just sent her. I wasn't near as mean but I hope she gets the point.
"Dear Ms. Floyd, While I agree with you that professional athletes have the right to speak their mind however they wish, their fans also have the right to stop supporting those players if they disagree with them. Remember that the First Amendment only provides protection from the government, not from your employer or your fans. Mr. Young can speak his mind till he is blue in the face, but his fans also have the right to stop buying his jersey's, stop attending his games, and voice their displeasure over his opinion. I would also invite you and Mr. Young to actually read the Arizona bill. I have read it several times over and they were very careful in the writing of the bill to try to minimize the possibility of abuse. While they can not control every officer, the punishment for those that do abuse law abiding citizens is very severe. The Federal Government has turned a blind eye to the boarder states, so they have been left to fend for themselves. Since you enjoy defending First Amendment rights so much, I think you should also try reading the Tenth Amendment, which states that powers not delegated to the Federal Government are left up to the individual states. Considering Arizona has asked the Federal Government several times over for help on immigration, to which the Federal Government ignored, Arizona is well with in their Constitutional rights to enact such a law. People tend to forget that the Constitution was written to protect State's rights as well as Individual rights. Thank you for your time."
