You should reply back to her and tell her that it is an EXACT replica of the FEDERAL IMMIGRATION LAW. dumbasses. Arizona is just following the law and putting it into practice because the feds are turning a blind eye to it.

Actually, it's not quite as punative as the federal law. AZ only makes is a misdemeanor. The federal law makes it a felony. Also, ICE gives border patrol agents and INS authority to NOT have probable cause when asking for documentation. The federal law is more racist than the state law!!

www.azleg.gov/legtext/49leg/2r/bills/sb1070s.pdfaccording to this link it's only a misdemeanor unless they're in violation of other terms. check out page 4, lines 25 on down. They made it a felony to basically be a drug trafficking, gun carrying illegal. that was the whole point of the law, to crack down on the gangs and drug and human smuggling.
