Since we've started the topic on another thread, I thought we'd hash this out...
What is the worst sports franchise for each sport? Over all?
Football: Browns? Lions? Baseball: Rangers Basketball: Clippers?
Overall: I'm leaning towards the Clippers or the Rangers.

This is kinda tough cause our sports minds only go back so far. If we did over the last 2 decades it would make it easier and I would go: FB: Lions BaseB: Pirates BBall: Clippers, Grizz, Hawks
But I think overall I would pretty much lean the same as John.

The pirates havent had a winning season since 1992. Now that it insane. Could the Chicago Cubs be a disussion? They have been a Franchise for over 100 years and have never won a championship. They continue to conquered the odds.

Lions take the cake in the NFL, the Browns were pretty good in the '80s.

Yeah, it has to be the lions. They haven't really been any good since before the merger.

Yeah, it has to be the lions. They haven't really been any good since before the merger. Have you seen what Detroit is these days? I wouldn't perform my best in a ghetto ghost town either.

Same franchise. Texans are a different franchise. In my mind Baltimore is the same franchise as the old Browns. The new Browns are a new franchise.

Two different cases. When the Oilers left Houston they took all the history (team/player records etc.), when the Browns left Cleveland they purposefully left all records with the city of Cleveland and started as a new franchise. Really no difference in the public eye but in terms of NFL history the Ravens have only been around since they moved to Baltimore while the Titans have been around since 1960.

Now that you mention it I do recall hearing something on that. I retract my previous two posts.

Well it is weird. That was part of the agreement the NFL made with Art Modell to allow him to leave.
