I think he is just trying to be funny now. The name of the event is "The Texas Half" and the length of the race is the "5K" so it's the Texas Half ...beat...5K.

Update on my running status, since I got flamed for treating this thread like a twitter account. I got a little lazy during all the cold weather, but got back on track last week. Broke the 24 minute mark on the ground for a 5K last week. Ran a 10K on Saturday in 54.40. Hovering around 200 lbs now. Down from 206 or so. Registering for the Cowtown 10K at the end of the month.

Let me know what you are running cause I really want to run a couple of these with you. I need to get into shape and this would be a good reason. I'll look up the cowtown and see if I can do that one.

Damnit Sully we are in America. We measure our distance in miles, yards, and feet. Enough of this!

I started p90X this evening. Wore me out. I couldn't do anything by the end. Everywhere I read all I hear is great thing..... if you stick with it. I would like to make it all 90 days but thats a tough goal. I am set at a month and then I will see from there. I will update periodically on my weight loss and definition improvement.
PS> After one day I can already tell my biceps are at least a centimeter bigger and I am almost certain I lost a couple millimeters in my waste. My best estimation is that I lost about 12 grams just in tonight's workout.

5K is 3.1 miles. 10K is 6.2.

For the last month I have run 4 times a week and lifted weights 2 times a week.
I only lift chest, tri, bi, abs, shoulders.
I run a 5k 3 times a week and 2 miles once a week.
I have gone from 163 to 169.

Not quite sure yet.
I feel better than I have in years, but I see myself every day so I'm not sure if I look any different.
I've been eating a lot healthier, and eating a whole lot more protein. But I could just be getting fat.

Ideally, I would be 175. I just need to rearrange some of my weight.

If you are eating a lot of protein and working out you are going to gain weight like crazy at the beginning. Once everything balances out then you will start burning more fat and gaining more muscle. Your body just has to adjust.

I gained 5 or so lbs after running for 2 weeks. It's been trimming off pretty good now, though at about 2-3 lbs per week. Ideally, I'd be around 185 by June. I have adjusted my diet a bit now. Trying to eat smaller healthier portions. I started mixing in some light weights this week. Low weight, lots of reps. I really packed on the lbs over the last year or so, and I need to remedy that situation. The running towards a goal helps.
