The new home of the Legacy Broncos.
Here are the teams...
Cedar Hill Duncanville Grand Prairie Mansfield Mansfield Legacy Mansfield Timberview Midlothian South Grand Prairie
To steal a line (modified) from Lonesome Dove: "well, I reckon we're going to find out if we were meant to be a 5A football team"
We better strap our chin straps tight.

I guess I just didn't realize that Mansfield was big enough to house 3 5A schools.

Its close to having 4.
Summit was just a few off from being 5A.
Also, in 2 years they are building another, so it will have 5.

Holy crap...that's murderers row.
How in the world does Mansfield house 5 high schools and Irving only have 3? Irving is 4 times the size of Mansfield, population-wise.

Yea I just can't figure that out. What's the population? I mean dentont has 120 probably and has 3 4As. Is it the college population that scues it or am I missing something?

Irving is at 201 and some change. Mansfield was just a c-hair under 50 last time I heard. Denton was about in that range last time I looked. They count the permanent residents so with all the new apartments and developments, there's more students staying in Denton than in the past so it skews the #s a but. I would guess the two schools add maybe 15 at most to the population. Denton is also an older town with a lot of older residents that don't have sex or babys for that matter. There's also a TON of washed-up, wannabe artists types who have given up on life and have no prospects of getting laid without the exchange of currency or other commodities.

It could be that they have kids from some of the surrounding smaller towns going to the Mansfield schools. Hallsville was a 4A school and the city had a little over 1000 residents.

Mansfield ISD includes parts of Grand Prairie, Burleson, Arlington, Ft. Worth, Rendon, Lilian and some other little communities.
There are over 30K students in Mansfield ISD.
Denton has 2 4A HS and one 5A HS. Guyer is in District 7-5A

It really amazes me how fast all of these places are growing.

Irving has 33k students. Is there a 4-1 student/faculty ratio in Mansfield or something?

No. Irving schools have over 3k per HS, Mansfield has 2300 per HS. We are small 5A, and Irving schools are large 5A's.
Plano has nearly 50K students, yet they only have 3 HS. Of course, those 3 HS all have 5-6K students that go to them.

Sounds like Mansfield may have a little more money than Irving...and better schools.

mansfield does have more money and better schools than irving, but the size of our schools has absolutely nothing to do with it.
The staff at Irving HS is much larger than at ours. So are the schools.
Again, Plano ISD is known as one of the best in the state and their schools dwarf most colleges.
