I was actually suprised at how well he got from 1st to 3rd on Nellie's 2B. He also hit one of the longest foul balls I've ever seen at the Temple. I'm in the middle. I don't think he's a 40/40, triple crown guy like Craig and I don't think he's completely washed up like Fischer. I think he'll hit around 15-20 hrs, drive in around 70-80 runs, and bat around .275 if he can stay healthy. I think he's worth every penny just to ensure that he doesn't play one game AGAINST the Rangers. I got tired of him killing us.

Yes, you did...and Fischer claimed he would croak in the on-deck circle before his first plate appearance of the season.

Maybe he'll start juicing again. Until then, he can't run, lost about all of his power, and won't stay off the DL all year. I do like the idea of not having to face him, though.
He can get the bat on the ball as good as anyone, just can't do much with it anymore.

The guy can hit anything. There's no pitch out of his reach.

It's 7 pm and I am issuing a failed bit warning for Rich Harden tonight. Over/under = 4 and 2/3 innings.

That's gonna be a problem. He looked real good if he could just keep his damn pitch count down. Only 1ER and 8 Ks but like 5 walks. Starting to worry about our hitting. Vlad looks good so far and so does Nelly, that's it.

It's only the second game, but Josh Hamilton has 5 K's in his last 5 AB's. Shit, that guy has lost it. Rich Harden is what he is. Big K and BB numbers. Few innings pitched his whole career. If we get 130 innings out of him this year, I'd be surprised.
We need a new manager. Someone to get these guys fired up. They've had all Spring to get going, and it looks like they just showed up from off-season. That said...it's still the 3rd day of a long season. We'll see what we get out of April with.

I'm not necessarily the biggest Ron Washington fan, but pro baseball players aren't fired up by a manager. Most teams don't even have team meetings before a game. Its the least structured team sport I have seen. They don't ride a team bus to the ball park (its optional) on away games. They don't meet as a team, the coach doesn't give pep talks on a regular basis.
The guys basically show up and do their job.

Yea dont think it Wash's fault. I think they play for him. They just arent playing good. Hamilton's swing is so weak and pitiful. Its painful to watch. And yes Vlad is proving you wrong through two games. That why I didnt say anything, cauase its just two. But the hitting on this team just looks awful.
