Yeah, the offense is awful. We're just 1/81 of the way through the season though. I wouldn't sound an alarm off yet. Baseball is streaky and the season is a marathon.

Seeing has how Harden only went 4+ innings, he looked good until the end there. The MY error didnt help either. But he does need to figure out that pitch count though.

I'm not necessarily the biggest Ron Washington fan, but pro baseball players aren't fired up by a manager. Most teams don't even have team meetings before a game. Its the least structured team sport I have seen. They don't ride a team bus to the ball park (its optional) on away games. They don't meet as a team, the coach doesn't give pep talks on a regular basis. The guys basically show up and do their job. No team meals either. Fischer's right, cheerleaders don't get baseball players motivated. I think he tries to be a little too rah-rah at times. My problem is his baseball decisions. His bone-headed moves alone cost them 4 games last year. Four games. You do the math...where would four more wins have gotten them? The biggest problem is that he will NEVER own up to making a mistake. NEVER. He even said on Norm's show last year that he has never made a mistake that cost the team the game.

Yeah, forgot about the no team meals.
Its really weird. On most teams the players don't really hang out outside of the club house. Its very business like.
Wake up, drive to the ball park for your INDIVIDUAL training session, eat your own lunch, take some BP, play the game, drive home or take a cab to the hotel.

It's kind of funny when they play in New York. You'll see two or three ride the subway together to get to the game. That's about all the hanging out that's done. All this being said, they probably spend more time in the clubhouse/locker room than all the other sports do. That's where their team-building exercises come from.

I don't know... football players spend more than 8 hrs a day in practice/locker room/meetings/film sessions.
They also room together on the road. A lot of baseball players don't.
I bet that baseball players have more free time in the locker room than any other sport, though. There is a little more down time in baseball.

Well back when hank was here, him and a few others would hang out in the clubhouse after the game and have some beers.

Well I'm gonna go ahead and say leave Vlad alone and start criticizing young and hamilton. He just nabbed second by the way with some good baserunning.

Vlad is 2-2 with an infield hit. He went to 3rd on a soft hit to 3rd by Cruz that allowed Cruz to stretch it into 2. He also took second on a pitch in the dirt.

The jam he just got out of in the 6th was brilliant. Runners at the corners with no outs. Two ks and an F9.

I like what I'm seeing. He was on the ropes in the bottom of the 6th after giving up two hard hit balls back to back.
Then, strikes out Wells, Overbay and flies out Encarnocion.

I'm quickly becoming a CJ fan...
Vlad is the only one on this team that can hit. He and Cruz.
