So they are investigating Mangino for mistreating players because he yelled at and then poked a linebacker in the chest during a practice?

I probably shouldn't say this but I did way more than that to pee wee football kids. Never for anything football related, but I don't take to being talked back to very well.

I realize it's been a hundred years or so since I've been on a football field, but the only players I saw getting yelled at or poked or getting their facemasks grabbed by a coach were the guys that had potential to be better players.

A good coach will be hard on his good players for that reason. Some folks don't ever know their full potential until they've puked their guts up from a little extra conditioning. Don't tell the Mothers of America that though. They don't want little Jimmy's nuts to drop down too fast. I appreciated every time I got smoked throughout my playing days. It just made me get in better shape and work harder. |

I don't think there is really any more to it than a couple disgruntled players who are big wusses.
He poked you in the chest? so what? who cares? Be a man. You say you're a man, then cry and complain when you are called out for poor performance and the only way you can try to save face is to cry and complain that you got poked in the chest? Ridiculous.
