I think you're both right on. Extended to 3 full days, no water and increased cost. I'd pay 36 bucks to go camp with all you guys anytime, without the music. Hell, we paid $105 each to camp for two days and see one set by RP. I watched a total of 10 mins of other music probably. Not saying the acts were bad, but the camping/drinking/floating/washers/horseshoes took priority over the show. I think they should bring it back to two full days with a pre-party. You can show up anytime, just as DB did last Monday. The price of the ticket for the quality of acts is out of whack, but that's what happens when hosting this on the river. Any other festival at fairgrounds or other places would be cheaper, but not quite as cool.

How low was the river? I heard a guy on the radio this morning talking about "walking" the river most of the time. I don't remember EVER having to walk last year. That was a perfect float.

I bet you could get 4-6 bands of better quality, pay them good, spread them over two nights and have increased attendance. Let anyone else who wants to play for free, do accoustic shows in the bar all day.

We rode up river where it's a little deeper and floated down to the camp. It wasn't bad. About 3 hours of nice and easy floating. Some of us walked about 20 yards and drug everyone else behind us. If you played it right, you could have made it through without getting up.

mike i floated most of the way. the last 300 yrds back to MB from where we floated was pretty rough. you had to walk about 30 yrds of that 300. it was just super low and slow.

Last year was the first time I ever floated. I guess I'm spoiled.

yeah you would have gotten lucky if last year was your first float. decent levels of water. this year, not so much

I did not float at all this year or last year. I'm not much on floating myself.

I was not too set on floating this year but i was convinced to go anyway. i was quite content letting my cookies soak in the river on a rock right in front of the campsite

Also, I talked to the owner of MB for a few minutes Sat morning, and he made a comment like it was the slowest weekend of the year for them. He said they gave the RFT folks a break on the rates, and were losing money. Bottom-line Sully. Did you give him a price for developing the entire area into condos?

This guy would never go for that. Neither would I.
Best use of that space is campgrounds. No reason to ruin a good river with yuppie condos.
